Re: Television programmes [2]
It looks ... sorta generic, in the current HBO-influenced, sex and violence-heavy, serialized cable drama world we live in. I don't know enough about Beowulf to say how accurate it looks, but I would expect that the answer is "not very".
Re: Television programmes [2]
Okay, I'm pissed. I figured the whole idea of the post game show was to provide some flex time so that they could air the premiere of the X-files reasonably close to the advertised time. But instead of cutting it short right after the trophy was awarded, they spent 5 minutes with talking heads. Sports talking heads: the worst type.

Re: Television programmes [2]
They came BACK to the talking heads after the commercial break!!! Just so stupid.

Re: Television programmes [2]
My step-brother was asking me how long I thought the post-game would be, and I was expecting 20-30 minutes. We have to record the episode for my step-mom too, so I think we gotta set the DVR to record whatever is scheduled to be after The X-Files too.

Next week's monster-of-the-week episode looks like a return to form.

x files
- Spoiler:
- I really liked the scenes of Mulder and Scully imagining their son. I thought those were effective and very sad.

Re: Television programmes [2]
This week there was finally an episode of Shannara that hadn't already been posted on MTV's website and ... yeah, it was really bad. Think I'm gonna drop this one now.
Re: Television programmes [2]
good idea Eldo.
ok I watched X-Files.
ok I watched X-Files.
- Spoiler:
- I have to say that I liked it. I saw the first two episodes, and generally it seems like business as usual. It didn't rock my world but it was solid enough, and seeing Scully and Mulder was so nice that I didn't really care about the clunky bits. The two things that I noticed most was that in contrast to the original everything seemed to be spelled out instead of leaving things to the imagination. The mysterious bits were all less mysterious and made more obvious. The most distracting thing of all was Scully's WIG, omg I couldn't get round it, I spent my time staring at that bad wig hairline instead of watching the episode. It REALLY distracted me, its so obviously a wig, she does look a bit weird and plastic though, dunno what she has done to herself. anyway all in all I am looking forward to watching further episodes. its not mind blowing but its very nostalgic.

Re: Television programmes [2]
I think its because she is a lot thinner in the face nowadays combined with the fright wig, theres something not quite natural. Mulder looks pretty much the same.

Re: Television programmes [2]
X-files: So close. But the comic timing was off, the acting didn't seem quite convincing at times. So close.

X-files: pretty much nailed it. A return to form, though the ending didn't really tie things up.

I liked the lizard one. it was kind of cute. Mulders face at the end made it for me.

I liked last weeks "man bites lizard-man" episode. Haven't gotten to around to the newest episode yet. Probably tomorrow.

Yep, as I said they finally nailed the feeling. Just took some time to regain it.

Agreed on the Trash Man consensus. Great episode.
Loved the use of Downtown by Petula Clark, but it's hard to beat that Seinfeld episode.

Re: Television programmes [2]
Apart from the Scully sex scene, i thought this episode of X-files was pretty weak.
