Re: Tales of Home [6]
yay today I took my coat off. it was warm. picked loads of plastic off the beach. I normally manage to fill two bags worth per walk, some idjits had left used fireworks on the beach that's a very dumb thing to do. luckily I have one of those sticks with picky uppy pincers. I met a pirate and had chips for tea.

That's nice of you to pick up at the beach. I often feel that if I could make a living at it I'd be very happy just picking up litter at parks, etc. It's very fulfilling to see how much better it looks afterwards.

oh me too, it may be an odd thing to do but I love picking up litter, not in town but in nature just cant leave it lying there. I cant stand beautiful places defiled by plastic.

Also when you're missing someone they never seem to be around to see you're missing them.
But then, I guess if they were around to see you missing them, you wouldn't be missing them.. because.. they would be there..
Oh, I don't know. You are all missed, anyway.

We ( my son & I ) are missing the loss of his cat He was sent to heaven as Vet found out puss had a bad heart. Thats the trouble with pets, they are all adorable, sweet, funny, cuddly & cute. You never at that time imagine them at the vet with the vet asking permission to "do what he has too" Its awful ! So, thats our "Missing you" story

Sorry Az.
This is why I'm done with pets. Can't handle that part of it, don't ever want to deal with it again.

Re: Tales of Home [6]
Thanks guys. At the moment I feel like an executioner even tho I know we did the right thing as Joey was suffering. Ive 5 other cats at home so this definitely IS gonna happen again. I just love cats, I love their company, their personality, their defiance sometimes too. They are what I come home to.

I wonder why we love em so much? cats can be pretty cool customers and a lot of mine hardly give me the time of day unless they are hungry. But they all have their own little personalities and when they want to be cute and cuddlesome its hard to resist. I am just a sucker really.

Re: Tales of Home [6]
Recent personality studies have show that cats most resemble lions. So when they suddenly snap at you after happily purring as you rub their tummy, just be glad they're small!

I sometimes wonder if there was a zapper that made you shrink to their size, would your pet cat recognize you as you or lunch.

Yeah, that's a real shame. But I guess you should remember the good times. After all, what is the point of life if not the good times.

Re: Tales of Home [6]
Sorry to hear about your loss, Az. Definitely agree that that is the major downside of pets.

Re: Tales of Home [6]
Looking over the Central Park Sheep's Meadow. I was walking to take a bus that traverses the park, but when I reached the park I couldn't understand why I'd want to do such a silly thing and took a walk.
The two fingers sticking up are new residential towers that popped up in the last year. They sell a view of the park, and a residence goes for tens of millions. Had to do studies of how long shadows hang out over the park; skinny towers only shade any area for a few minutes, so are acceptable. No doubt we'll see more of them.

They kind of look like middle fingers, don't they?

Re: Tales of Home [6]
I loved the Pic Petty took of the church tower ! Im fond of those sort of pics. As for Halfy...Its kinda sad to see the struggle between natural & the need for housing. You go higher up so as not to encroach on beautiful greenery yet when your enjoying the beautiful greenery, you look up & see the truth trying to get nearer. That makes me sad.

Re: Tales of Home [6]
I wouldn't use the phrase "need for housing" in this context. The people buying into those towers lack for nothing.

Re: Tales of Home [6]
First two are a bit odd, spotted a sort of rainbow over the Clyde- thing is and not sure how well it will show up, there wasn't a rainbow as a such more a weird ball of rainbow-
Getting eyeballed by swans-

I took those pictures yesterday, today I took this one-
There's a storm brewing! The first named storm of the winter Abigail, due to hit overnight and tomorrow- should be caught on the edge of it rather than in the middle with a bit of luck but gusts from 40-80mph expected. So blowy.

Re: Tales of Home [6]
Quite dreary looking but the ball of rainbow is neat. Hope the storm doesn't cause too much trouble.
Re: Tales of Home [6]
Yes, that "rainball" is unusual & pretty at the same time I like black swans but you hardly see those ?
