Yeah.
Will be interesting too, as rumour has it we might get some Battle of Ice spoilers. A bit in two minds about that, as I would have prefered to have found out first through the books. But I feel people have waited quite long enough to find out whether that letter was true or not.

Even when I wasn't following the show at all (during seasons two and three), I was waiting to see what the show would do when adapting AFFC and ADWD. I think there's a real possibility of the show's version of this part of the story being superior to those two books, and having actual climaxes at the end of the season would be one major improvement. Although I'm skeptical that TWOW will be published before season six airs, and the show is definitely going to finish before the books.
Re: Game of Thrones -- TV ONLY
True. Particularily with regard to the climaxes.
I do think, as I said in the book thread, there's a good story there, even if it doesn't come across well in the way the books have been published. Honestly, I feel the publishers did George no favours by pushing him to release AFFCs. It's actually so uninspiring that I could see it having had a negative impact on general interest in his series, particularily if WoW will continue the downward thread of the last two books, if the television series hadn't come around. So, with regards to the published version of Georges story, it is probably possible to make an improvement. Though I do think there are some great pieces of writing by George in those two books, and some great pieces of writing we already know will be cut. So, I think I'll withhold judgment until I've seen what they've come up with.
I guess they're kind of doing the same thing as combining the books are meant to achieve, by having all the storylines happen concurrently. Just with the added opportunity of having an ending to some of them.

The two latest season 5 teasers. With some Arya glimpses, and a quck glimps of Jamie.

Re: Game of Thrones -- TV ONLY
Honestly from everything I have heard I'm hoping Lady Stoneheart shows up in season 5. I haven't got to her yet, I just picked up book 2 from the library this morning. So I haven't even started THAT one yet. From what I was told she isn't there till book 3. Sounds like a pretty cool character though

I hope you haven't heard too much about Lady Stoneheart, Sin. I think her scenes are some of the ones that are best experienced when reading them with as little foreknowledge as possible.

Gad, 50 Shades is even worse writing than I imagined. Brilliantly played.

As someone with knowledge of that type of lifestyle (don't ask), my wife despised the book and every situation in it, as I view it, is a bunch of Twilight fantasy.

Re: Game of Thrones -- TV ONLY
Ok fine... Long story short, my wife and I have a D/s (Dominant/submissive) relationship. It's worked for 10 years of our 22 year marriage. It's not all about all the crap you read in 50 shades of grey. THAT is all I will admit to and say in public here. LOL

Re: Game of Thrones -- TV ONLY
From what I understand the book is all talk and precious little action. Insipid and sleep inducing. Your cat gets a wilder ride whenever it's claws are trimmed.
Related to Sin my present sort of girl friend tends that way (an odd relationship in more ways than one), and it's got nothing to do with her giving up any type of control except in her own fevered imagination. The subs are often running the show; the so-called 'Dom' half blearily scratching their heads thinking "wait, you want me to do WHAT?" 'nuff said.

This looks pretty cool.
http://www.vanityfair.com/vf-hollywood/2015/01/game-of-thrones-behind-the-scenes-special-detailsThe special is titled Game of Thrones: A Day in the Life. It’s a half-hour documentary that covers one day of season 5 production on three different Thrones sets in three different countries – Belfast, Northern Ireland; Dubrovnik, Croatia; Sevilla and Osuna, Spain. The special follows key crew members and promises to highlight “the epic sets, renowned cast and global scale of Thrones, as well as the more intimate and individual challenges of our subjects, giving the audience a new perspective on one of the most elaborate productions in television history.

I saw the preview for this yesterday, can't wait to see it myself. Although I don't think it will give away much of anything on season 5. Other than probably backdrops, I don't think any plot will be revealed. But it does look interesting as heck.

This should be far better than any of the Hobbit behind the scenes.

Even as bad as I feel the films were, I still enjoyed the behind the scenes stuff of the Hobbit. But GOT is an event for me. Even though this thing is only 30 minutes I'll probably do it up popcorn, surround sound, the whole 9 yards. Lol
