I couldn't pick between the two, so I posted a tie!

Again, I'm seeing a pattern in what we really didn't like...

And now a short intermission, because I need some Buckie after having to look at all the badness 

I recommend watching the movie in low quality, it hides the dreadful plastic look of everything and everyone and just makes it simply look like your average bad movie. It really made the movie a whole lot better!

No surprises so far...

So the Barrels scene won the award for Best invented set piece - that's saying a lot about how dreadful the other scenes were!

To be fair, the barrel scene was entertaining if you approached the movie the same way you approach an amusement park ride. Obviously I wanted more from The Hobbit, but this is higher praise than I can give most of the action set pieces in the trilogy so far.

For as much as the barrel scene was talked up by critics, I found it to be rather disappointing. Also, the editing was atrocious, so my vote went to the spider fight.
