Re: Future releases [2]
Whoo-eee, that looks good. I love Ron Howards films, hes got a real good feel for life. I know its CGI but, I dont wanna see the great white whale "get it" I cant watch films with animals even if it is CGI as they always get bumped off, & then the screaming & the wailing & the nashing of teeth & sobbing starts.............& its only the opening scene !

Re: Future releases [2]
It's based on a non-fiction book about the historical events that inspired Melville to write Moby-Dick. I'm not entirely sure what the point of making a new fictional adaptation of the same story is (does Ron Howard think he's gonna do better than Melville?). Perhaps it's just to try to stand out a little more. In any event, I've heard that the book is good, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything for the film.
Re: Future releases [2]

Re: Future releases [2]

Re: Future releases [2]
I remember reading up on this after seeing a trailer a while back (possibly due to you Norc). It does look pretty neat. I wonder how wide of a release it will get in the US.

But Melville wrote a myth inspired by the event, this is a semi realistic film based on the event. Very different, actually.

I am always wary of watching films with animals because it usually ends in tears.
