Re: Future releases [2]
It's high time Macbeth received the blockbuster treatment.- Halfy
Quite agree, afterall it was a blockbuster originally in Shakespeares day But I am really looking forward to this one, Macbeth is one of my favourites, its rarely done in historical setting these days, and even rarer they bother making everyone sound Scottish.

Not sure what to make of this- especially that final shot and choice of sound.

Re: Future releases [2]
A movie industry-related plot, a large cast of Coen regulars, a suitcase of cash, silly accents, a colorful period setting, quirky dialogue, sepia tones, etc.
Boy is it ever a Coen film!

I suppose this actually has an excuse to look like a video game.

Re: Future releases [2]
I, an enjoyer of the World of Warcraft game, think the plot had potential to blow my mind, but it looks basically like Dawn of the Planet of the Apes all over again. Watered down and oversimplified with cliche dialogue. Bleh.

Re: Future releases [2]
The ending for me was the worst and felt too much like they were setting up for a sequel. I also thought that, like with Eowyn, they were setting you too much to believe that he would die, stripping away the intended effect after you realize he doesn't

Re: Future releases [2]
I thought the trailer was okay. Nothing too mind-blowing in it, but as we all know trailers aren't always the most accurate indicators of their movie's quality, for better or worse. In this case, just being a "pretty good, I actually enjoyed the time spent watching this, might see it again one day" kinda movie (which is kinda how I felt about Dawn of the Planet of the Apes while we're on that topic) would put it near the top of any list of epic fantasy movies just because there are so few, and even fewer decent ones. I'm not trying to give the movie undue credit just 'cause of its genre, but if it entertains me that'll be enough not to feel like I wasted my money.

Re: Future releases [2]
Never played WOW and I know nothing about it's mythology, but that trailer didn't grab me in the slightest, looks like a generic fantasy film...with extremely ropey CGI, I'll be giving it a miss I think...

Re: Future releases [2]
What gets me mad is that the producers of the movie seem mainly concerned with making the movie appeal to general audiences, rather than make the movie really good.
