Kurtzman and Orci are terrible. They're also responsible for Cowboys and Aliens and the first two Transformers films. They're regulars in the JJ Abrams hack club.

That GIF reminded me of the Movie 43 review

Re: Future releases [2]
Oh God, even the review of that movie is too painful to sit through a second time.
Re: Future releases [2]
I loved the ending.
Jay (or Mike?): "And if you do go, you might want to skip the last ten minutes of the film. You see, the film is divided up into sections.."
Mike: "Yeah that's right."
Jay: "And it was kind of odd, but, they decided to end the film with 10 minutes of 9/11 footage."

Re: Future releases [2]
I didn't think they were going to review TASM2. It sounds amazing in its terribleness.
Fake edit: oh god yes, the patented Richard Evans Laugh.
I was disappointed to hear such bad things about Transcendence from a lot of different people, but I might try it on DVD just out of curiosity.

Or, in other words: "Wormtail Smiles Acknowledgingly (but Gruffly) for a Couple Hours While People Praise His Work"Mrs Figg wrote:
Then again this might be quite enjoyable. If nothing else, the film enjoys quite nice polish for a character piece.
The Malevolent, or Malificient, or Malificent, or Malevient, whatever the name is, is apparently following the "Fairy Tale Verite" approach.
It clearly has the LotR-inspired battle fetish. And although the trailer is trying to showcase the "maturing" of the story, the darkening, I would not be surprised if it does contain some lighter elements in the details left out of the trailer. There is, for example, almost no screen-time here for the three good fairies; who knows what they may be like.
If nothing else, here's a nice cover of the original Disney film's score that will feature, supposedly, in the movie!
P.S.
I found this comment in that video link, I hadn't heard it before so it made me smile.
"I'm not roleplaying... I'm being Sirius.

I am looking forward to Maleficent, I don't know what to expect but I hope it won't be a disappointment...
That song certainly is a more sinister version than the original.

I don't find anything about it sinister. It is sad, and bittersweet. Certainly it's darker. I like it a lot.Amarië wrote:I am looking forward to Maleficent, I don't know what to expect but I hope it won't be a disappointment...

Interstellar trailer is being released with Godzilla, which means we'll probably get the next Hobbit trailer with that Tom Cruise movie (forgot the name) next month.

Re: Future releases [2]
I'm really excited for Interstellar, even though TDKR was a bit of a let-down and I'm not sure how well Inception would hold up in my eyes (which is why I haven't rewatched it since it was in theatres). But Nolan has quite a few very good films under his belt and it's always awesome to see some original sci-fi/fantasy on the screen (even though there are plenty of good adaptations).
Re: Future releases [2]
Hey reviews are out for Godzilla!
On RT it has a 73%, not bad at all.

- Spoiler:
Bitch, please.
The musical accompaniment for this trailer has been lifted directly from the post-torture rooftop scene in V for Vendetta.
A la Man of Steel, this trailer has taken the music of a far better film to sell itself.
That being said, gosh darn that's a lot of faces!
Matthew McConaughey of course, quite nice.
Casey Affleck was in there for a second I think (yep, confirmed). Jessica Chastain (yes!), Anne Hathaway, David Oyelowo (he's been in a lot of films lately) showed up briefly in that interview scene, Bella's freaky daughter from Twilight!
And hey, they gave Michael Caine some Eastern Europe/Russian/something accent.
What kind of director has Michael Caine change his accent for a film??
Oh yeah, this shmuck:
Thanks for that, geez.
I mean, thanks for PotC, the first film was mostly admirable, and Rango was pretty good, but you don't make Michael Caine change his bloody accent for any film, especially not one that stars Nicholas Cage. I mean, she was only sixteen!
Really, I don't like the idea of having him adopt this strange sound. It's better than going for an American accent, perhaps, but it's still not a good idea in my book.
