Re: Waiting for 'The Battle of the Five Armies'...
Someoneover on TorN (Avandel there name is) was at TH panel at SDCC and the only new teased info was this (brace yourself! )
'Azog MAY have some power that spawns something nasty that helps him out'
Worst guesses? (worst as in, with that premise there cant be any good ones )

Re: Waiting for 'The Battle of the Five Armies'...
Why the hell wouldn't they make the trailer available online? Surely they knew that detailed descriptions would make their way out almost immediately, so what is gained by hiding it from the majority of fans and interested viewers? There's plenty of other stuff you can offer up as a Comic-Con exclusive, in addition to the distinction of getting to see the "premiere" of the trailer.
Fingers crossed that the BOFA trailer isn't handled similarly.

The main Hobbit panel -- the one featuring PJ -- isn't until tomorrow (Saturday). It'll be at 10 AM PDT / 1 PM EDT / 6 PM GMT. Hopefully there will be some good livebloggers covering it. I get off work just as it starts but there should be recaps as well.
Re: Waiting for 'The Battle of the Five Armies'...
I'm working tomorrow in the afternoon/evening. Worried I'll miss the release of the trailer online, if it happens tomorrow.

If the trailer is previewed tomorrow but doesn't drop online for a while, PJ will have a lot of irate fans on his hands.

Re: Waiting for 'The Battle of the Five Armies'...
He said he'd already handed it over to WB so I'm sure it's ready to be seen by the public. They'll probably show it in the morning at the panel then he'll post on facebook "look new trailer!" and we'll be set. I just want to know what type of extra footage will be shown.

None of us can wait to have our blood pressure raised to the roof, pull out our hair, rip chunks out of the cinema seats, throw popcorn at the screen, shout insults & punch the guy sitting next to us cant wait

Maybe. We still don't know for sure. There's a pretty good chance of it, though.
Re: Waiting for 'The Battle of the Five Armies'...
Don't forget that WB is also previewing two other movies today in Hall H, Jupiter Ascending and Mad Max. Expect BOFA to be previewed last; so as the event may start at 10am PST (and runs until 12pm PST), don't expect anything about TH until sometime after 11am PST.

From the ComingSoon.net liveblog:
So that's why there were no pick-ups, he's moved beyond "actors" now!
Jackson's talking about his new tech, saying that, in many ways, he's still shooting

Re: Waiting for 'The Battle of the Five Armies'...
His hope for THE HOBBIT trilogy is that the tone will transition through the films to match the tone of LotR by the end of BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES
Oh, not until then?
Re: Waiting for 'The Battle of the Five Armies'...
He [Colbert] asks if we'll get to see Galadriel enter the battle
...
"We do get to see Galadriel 'losing it a bit' in this movie," says Jackson

Saw that and just rolled my eyes. "We don't need people and locations, because I have computers."

Re: Waiting for 'The Battle of the Five Armies'...
Colbert is taunting Boyens because he beat her at Middle-Earth trivia
"Your wife came up to me later and said, 'this is the greatest night of his life,'" she laughs
"I was training all my life for a race I didn't know I was running," laughs Colbert.
"I think it was a closer match than you remember," smiles Boyens
I like Colbert but that is not nearly as much of an accomplishment as he thinks it is.
Re: Waiting for 'The Battle of the Five Armies'...
I don't understand how Colbert, someone who knows so much about Tolkien and loves it so much, can like these movies.

Re: Waiting for 'The Battle of the Five Armies'...
Well I know plenty of people who are extremely knowledgeable about Tolkien who love the movies, although most of them are considerably cooler about The Hobbit trilogy. It's easy enough to get caught up in hype as a regular fan, though, and Colbert has been fairly close to the production for a while. I'm sure that when you're filming a cameo or moderating a panel at Comic-Con the hype blinders are much, much stronger.
