Re: The Bigger, Badder, Even More Serious Thread [4]
Nice to see the Norwegan muslims forming a ring of peace around the largest synagogue in the country so show that Muslims and Jews do not have to hate each other.
And in the you couldn't make it up section of the news a UKIP Councillor sacked for racism claims she is not racist- she just 'has a problem with negroes, with their curly hair, wide noses and shiny skin' and 'wouldn't sit next to one at dinner'.
Well glad thats clear then!
And yet so many in England seem to want to vote for this lot of barely concealed racists. I find that very worrying- on the plus side however if they do win a sizeable vote at the general election it pretty much guarantees Scotland having another referendum in short order and getting the hell away.

A politician actually said that?! With that lack of a filter it's wonder she got so far.

Re: The Bigger, Badder, Even More Serious Thread [4]
Its mind boggling. And not like its the first UKIP member to be exposed as complete racist scum. And yet still their popularity in England continues to grow. As I say, very worrying.
They currently have about 15% of the popular vote and growing, and when you consider Labour only has about 33% and the Tories 35% thats really a concern.

Re: The Bigger, Badder, Even More Serious Thread [4]
Heres some classic UKIP quotes that exposes what sort of people they are, its not just non whites they dont like its women and homosexuals too-
"Since the passage of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act, the nation has been beset by serious storms and floods." - David Silvester
"As for the links between homosexuality and paedophilia, there is so much evidence that even a full-length book could hardly do justice to the subject."- Julia Casper
"The evidence is quite clear that the percentage of homosexuals who molest children is very high and cannot be dismissed."- Jan Zolyiak
"I just wish they would keep their homosexual nature and practices to themselves and stop trying to ram it down my throat telling me they are 'normal' when they are not."- Douglas Denny
"Women who don't clean behind their fridges are sluts." - Godfrey Bloom
"How we can possibly be giving £1bn a month, when we're in this sort of debt, to Bongo Bongo Land is completely beyond me." Bloom again on overseas aid.
"If you look at the people who get degrees more, women get them and they are getting the jobs in the workplace but for various reasons they don't have the ambition to go right to the top because something gets in the way. It's called a baby."- Stuart Agnew
"The Muslims are breeding ten times faster than us… I don’t know at what point they reach such a number we are no longer able to resist the rest of their demands."- Lord Pearson
"No employer with a brain in the right place would employ a young, single, free woman."- Bloom
“I am informed by past media that Black Caribbean and not Black African have a higher instance of schizophrenia. I wonder if this is due to inbreeding on these small islands in slave times or is it due to smoking grass.”
“Anybody who makes racist comments isn’t welcome. Anybody with a racist agenda has joined the wrong party.” Nigel Farage head of UKIP
Yeah sure Nigel, pull the other one.
"But it is to say that any normal and fair-minded person would have a perfect right to be concerned if a group of Romanian people suddenly moved in next door."- Nigel Farage

Oh they are aware ok, they are aware they have to not say what they really think. They are racists, sexists and homophobics who hide behind a smart suit and presentation- but despite this the mask just keeps slipping.
I prefer it when they just speak their mind and we can see them for what they are- they are much more dangerous as wolves in sheep's clothing.

UKIP was bound to attract the crowd which is just on the right side of the BNP. UKIP is the Marks and Spencers version of the BNP. The BNP kick peoples heads in pubs, UKIPs lot have tea parties. I blame years of pc piss taking, even tolerant people lose it after a bit.

There is nothing funny about the prospect of these people getting some actual power come the general election. Its horrific.

Re: The Bigger, Badder, Even More Serious Thread [4]
More corruption at the heart of the UK establishment as revealed by the Telegraph and Channel 4-
'Two former foreign secretaries are exposed for their involvement in a new “cash for access” scandal.
Jack Straw and Sir Malcolm Rifkind offered to use their positions as politicians on behalf of a fictitious Chinese company in return for payments of at least £5,000 per day.
Mr Straw, one of Labour’s most senior figures, boasted that he operated “under the radar” to use his influence to change European Union rules on behalf of a commodity firm which pays him £60,000 a year.
Mr Straw claimed to have used “charm and menace” to convince the Ukrainian prime minister to change laws on behalf of the same firm. Mr Straw also used his Commons office to conduct meetings about possible consultancy work — a potential breach of rules. And he suggested that his Commons researcher had worked on his private business matters, raising further questions.
Sir Malcolm, who oversees Britain’s intelligence agencies on behalf of Parliament, said he could arrange “useful access” to every British ambassador in the world because of his status.
The senior Conservative told undercover reporters from this newspaper and Channel 4’s Dispatches, to be broadcast on Monday night, that he would submit questions to ministers on behalf of a paying client, without revealing their identity.
Sir Malcolm also described himself as “self-employed” and had to “earn my income” — despite being paid £67,000 by the taxpayer for his work as an MP.'
Last year Sir Malcolm registered earnings of £69,610 — more than £1,600 an hour — from his work outside of Parliament, while Mr Straw earned £112,777 from his outside business activities.'
It never changes- every few years this sort of thing gets revealed, top MP's get caught in stings selling out, breaking the law, and noting ever happens, it gets swept under the carpet until next time.

I think we have something simmilar here, though it's definitely seen as archaic.
The thing is, in any other walk of life this would be considered fraud. And these are publicly elected officials in positions of responsibility.
At least people will hopefuly stop voting for them.

Re: The Bigger, Badder, Even More Serious Thread [4]
A few years ago masses of MP's got caught fraudulently claiming expenses- everything from porn on tv to a million quid duck house (I kid you not, a house for ducks on a Tory estate).
Now if anyone else fiddled their work expenses its a police job, and if you fiddle enough its jail time.
MP's punishment- you get barred form the House of Commons for a couple of weeks.
One rule for the rich and powerful and another for the rest of us.

Yeah, I caught the expenses scandal. Are some of those people still in the HoCs?
I remember seeing this around that time. The House voting on MPs salaries and welfare reform. Now, which is which, I wonder.

The bulk of them- and of those who are no longer there its not because they got sent to prison ( 6 did for a short term- a sot of sacrificial lamb as most of the House was caught at it) but because they got voted out in an election.
The longest sentence carried out was David Chaytor who got 18 months but only actually served less than a third of that time- he was found guilty of three counts of false accounting relating to approximately £18,000 of parliamentary expenses.
Of the 6 who got sentences none of them served more than a quarter of their sentence and one of them served only 9 weeks.

Re: The Bigger, Badder, Even More Serious Thread [4]
So another helpless unarmed man is shot dead by cops in the US.
How many before their is a real discussion on guns over there?
1 homeless guy, 5 cops and their only solution? Shoot him 5 times. WTF?
If the cops werent armed they wouldnt have this easy solution to problems and that guy would have been subdued and receiving the mental health treatment he so obviously needs (another issue with no NHS equivalent there, no treatment for folk like him).
According to the cops in the struggle he reached for one of the cops guns, but again if the cops werent covered in weaponry he couldnt have done that and he would still be alive.
Its madness.
