The Scottish Sun have spilled the Who beans from the leaked scripts- I have avoided it but its reported by them that the opening episode is in some way about the Scottish independence debate, and it comes down on the side of the Union.

Beyond some US loving and some veiled criticism of Tony Blair NUWho hasn't been political, a social agenda yes, but not a political one.

The last time Who had an explicitly political message was the 7th Doctor, most of whose stories are digs are Thatcher.

I've used Scottish independence as a (small) plot device too, no one wrote an article about me! Doctor Who [8] - Page 34 Icon_mad
Probably for the best though, it was rather crappy. And not Who related. But it was fun to write.

A bunker is always good to have just in case, it can come in handy when debating PJ and various types of political and/or religious topics too. Smile

Not enough talking from the Doctor! I did get quite a kick out of the fact that he pulls out the sonic sword, and then starts playing it as an instrument.
The next superhero should be Bagpipe-Man! He will deal out justice (and set dogs howling for miles) with his melodious tunes upon the pipes!

Sorry Forest- didn't think something so vague needed spoilers- I doubt they turn up in the middle of the referendum debate- and I have read elsewhere that despite what the Sun says, its little more than a throwaway humour line- not dissimilar in tone in fact to the bit in the Beast Below, when Amy discovers Starship UK doesn't have a Scotland section, as they wanted their own ship, and she replies "Good for them. Nothing changes."

I haven't read anything spoilery- the Sun thing was hard to avoid however as it was splashed across the front page with a massive headline and on prominent display in every shop I went into  Mad  But I haven't read the story myself and I know no details- and the one line thing, I know almost nothing beyond that's all the Sun story was based on, one line of non-story related dialogue, and I dont know what the line is, what it refers to, who says it, or even if its really there- I dont count that as a spoiler- there is no detail at all, cant get much vaguer.

It definitely looks darker, which is ok with me because 10 and 11 were both kind of goofy. The show needs a change of pace I think, I at least was kind of getting bored of 11. Clara helped, but not enough for me.

Who is always about change.

These days old Whovians hark back to the 4th Doctor, the definitive Doctor, and he was outstanding, but people also forget by the end of his run they were crying out for him to go.
Who thrives on change. (And its fans thrive on complaining the latest change is not as good as the old change, even though they said the same thing about the old change at the time!)

Me,Likey,Alot!!!

Defintely looks darker and more 'classic series' in tone, though admittedly a small part of me can't help but think wouldn't Smith's doctor have made more sense for the first in a new cycle?-the energetic mad man in a box rather than the scary intense mad man Capaldi seems to hint at (not that this is a bad thing, I'm really glad it's going darker), Capaldi will (almost certainly) be brilliant, but you'd think after being granted 13 more lives, saving his home Planet and finally getting his arse of Trenzalore he'd be a bit more cheeful?

Oh well only a few weeks left...

Just finishing off Pertwee's third season btw, I've defintely warmed to him, though he dosen't seem that 'alien' in comparison to Hartnell and Troughton, and I'm not still not sold on the idea of 6 parters (especially in his second season, The Master got repetitive very quickly)

Jo Grant is probably my fave companion after Jamie so far, and it's funny to note the sonic screwdriver is basically, well a sonic device, not a shortcut for everything.

Are any of the Classic Who seasons available as Box Sets? (Apart from Trial of A Timelord), as far as I can tell they were only released as single stories

So I suppose Clara will be present throughout the entire forthcoming season (or series, if you like).
I saw some strange new creatures, or robotic beings. I wonder if many of them are reboots of classic Who characters and races?
