Dont worry Kafria I fixed that in the purist edit! My version should fit reasonably well with LotR's time line and the Ring is no big deal in my cut. As it should be.

I'd say no. And I refuse to entertain any notions of rationalizing such a ridiculous scene that ends being a waste of everyone's time, including the viewer's.

Glad to hear it, if I get organised I intend to take a gander and offer my thoughts this week, but I still appear to have no access to the second skydrive, just the first.

I don't understand how you can like Azog though! Mad Mad
Bard, I get; Kili I can imagine; but Azog? And Thorin?!

No mention of Thranduil!!

Wow.

In theatres: 'Desolation of Smaug' | SPOILERS - Page 31 Really2

I'm glad you liked it more the second time around though, coolios.

The second time around I saw Stephen Colbert, noticed what you said about Bilbo being shocked with himself for killing the mutant grub, and was subtly mad about all the little stupid things that I saw.

By the way, why couldn't Cumberbatch play a character who's face we can see? That would be awesome! Cumberbatch as Bard, or as a slightly sinister Wood-elf, or some random Lake-towner who makes disparaging comments about the dwarves!
omg.. how did i forget thrandy-pants! he's just plain awesome Very Happy he's a bit of a dick, but he's so awesome  Cool

After seeing Bilbo be disgusted, i got another view on it. maybe it isn't the fact that he killed that ugly ass spider, but the fact that he is off somewhere els defending a silly ring instead of back with the dwarves helping them. I didn't spot stephen colbert, though i noticed that Luke Evans plays both Bard and Girion, which was rather cool Very Happy like they had done some cool make-up so the only resemblance was the eyes.

i also was hoping Benedict could be an elf or something, like a cameo. but i think he would be recognized so easily it would steal away the focus. also he is in one shot, although wearing Sauron's helmet, but it is him posing. (i recognise that stand Rolling Eyes )

agree figgy ^^

also, Kafria, i kinda agree on the 3D thing, i didn't see this movie in 3D, but subtitles are shit in 3D which is mainly the reason i don't go. it takes me half an hour to ignore them enough to not be distracted..

btw, Kafria, i also agree that Tauriel wasn't that bad. I giggled-snorted when she did that ridicolous healing thing, cus to me she was just scary as shit, but Evangeline Lily did a pretty good job, considering the clichè she was given. What they did to Beorn angers me far more (also Gandalf pronounced it correctly cheers ) like.. he is the fucking first of his goddamn kind and he is proud and awesome and omg!

The actress did well enough all considered (well when she wasnt made of cgi which is a surprising amount of her screen time) but the character is terrible, the love triangle embarrassing and the dialogue alternates between laughable and cringeworthy.

Well she is entirely cgi for most of the spider sequence and most of the barrel escape and a part of the Laketown fight.
Which accounts for about half her screentime- real person is conversation with Thranduil, and Kili at the jails, Legolas after the barrel escape and healing scene.

Nope pretty sure Im not- her and Legolamb are cgi for most of the action sequences and most of what they do is action.
When you have to go through stuff a frame at a time you notice these things.

I didnt say all of it, I said about her half her screen time. Basically when she isnt talking she is fighting, and when she is fighting she is mainly cgi.

Most of it in fact. They insert a few close ups of the real her to make you not notice the cgi version as much but thats all it is.
