So, I finally got around to watching this. Very Happy

Thank you for pointing it out, by the way. I probably would have missed it completely if you hadn't. (Though watching it on iTunes was a bit of a pain, maybe the watching it through gifs might have something for it. Laughing )

Some thoughts:

I think it really shows off exactly why Sherlock has become such a success. It's the chemistry between those people. That thight knit group of people.

I found the talk about the structuring of the wedding episode very interesting. Sometimes stuff that is not necessarily very accessible (it's gotten a bit of criticism on here for instance,) is done that way very deliberately

And through all that talk about the drunk stuff I was surprised noone did a joke about doing it method. Laughing

I do wonder at Magnussens Scandinavianess when Moffat says they wanted to make a villan people could truly hate.  Shocked

And I love Martin Freemans socks.  Laughing

There's probably more I could point out too.. All in all a very interesting watch.  Nod

Well, you would wouldn't you. Laughing  It's a great line and Benedicts reaction is priceless.

And it's good they appreciate the fans. They certainly seem to. The third season in many ways seemed like a homage to all the fan interest and speculation.

And I'm guessing the fan art is very flattering. Up to that point you mentioned above.  Laughing

I quite like Benedicts Sesame Street (?) apperance too.  Nod

It's rather silly, but I think that is a good thing. Reminds me a bit of that "Round of the Baskervilles" thing.

I find it a bit amusing this is still the only video I can find of that online.  Laughing

Yeah, the whole thing is on Dailymotion. But that is the only video of just that moment. and it contains ... some other stuff as well.  Laughing

Quite liked that first one. Reminds me of The Day Today.

I was looking for some good Benedict interviews online and I quite liked this where Benedict first goes off on an interviewer for asking him to come up with his own question:

https://youtu.be/Fkd08xuDwPE?t=3m44s

And then is nice enough to come up with his own question anyway:

This happened! I saw it happen! Loo was in her photo session and I was almost up then all of a sudden Benedict runs through the door, up to Loo and hugs her tight then kisses her on the cheek and then puts his leg up, messing around and posing!
He then went and sat down and watched me and a few others have photos with Loo whilst smiling cutely and Loo kept looking over at Ben! She couldn’t stop giggling after and I told her it was adorable to which she just nodded whilst giggling and almost fangirling!
IT WAS THE CUSTEST MOMENT OF MY LIFE!

"An "elementary" piece of evidence has suggested Sherlock Holmes' sidekick Dr Watson was based on a Dundee doctor.
Scottish Osteopathy Society members were looking at old newspapers when they spotted an article by a man who said Dr Watson was based on his father.
The 1938 article stated: "The detective's companion Watson was my father William Smith."
Dr Smith became one of Scotland's first osteopaths during the 1880s.
When Dr Smith was studying in Edinburgh he met Dr Joseph Bell - the man that inspired Arthur Conan Doyle to create Sherlock Holmes.
Cuthbert Smith - who lived in Dundee before moving to the US and settling in Des Moines - wrote: "The detective's companion Watson was my father William Smith."
He added that Doyle and his father had marvelled at Dr Bell's talents and had asked permission to base a detective character on him.
Dr Bell not only agreed but also offered many helpful suggestions on how the character should be portrayed."- BBC

Wasn't there talked about him being based on one or two doctors who served in Afganisthan as well though.

My guess would be he was probably a mixture of several people.

Maiwand, a pivotal battle of Britain’s Second Afghan War, was one of the worst defeats ever suffered by a British Army.

Many of the survivors were invalided home, docking at towns such as Portsmouth, where some may have found their way to the surgery of a struggling young doctor, Arthur Conan Doyle, who set up practice in the town in 1882.

To boost his finances, Conan Doyle began writing detective stories. A Study in Scarlet, the first story to feature his detective Sherlock Holmes, was published in 1887.

Among those wounded at Maiwand was an army doctor, Surgeon-Major Alexander Francis Preston. His experiences so closely mirror those of Dr Watson, he is thought to be the model for Holmes’s sidekick.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2095088/The-REAL-Dr-Watson-The-Victorian-army-medic-inspiration-Sherlocks-trusty-sidekick.html

So, all in all, probably a mixture.
