Why not Mike McShane? He was glorious on UK Whose Line.

Re: More Hobbit pictures [4] SPOILER THREAD
Aha Sin so someone agrees with me! In terms of acting range he would have nailed it, the stunts and action sequences...probabaly not, and If I'm honest maybe he would have suited the fairytale vibe Del Torro was going for better.
Although as I did say Thorin's age in Dwarven years is certainly open to debate-Balin was only 178 in The Hobbit and a decrepit old git, yet Dwalin was less than 10 years younger lived to be 340.
Kinda weird they went for an old guy as Thorin's sucessor to the throne, when Dain is decades younger in the book.
I don't like Who's Line is it anyway.
But Paul Merton of Have I Got News For You would have been great as Bilbo!

Well, there is a running gag on Have I got news for you that Ian Hislop has been cast as the new Doctor Who.
Not heard anything about Bilbo sadly.

Ian Hislop as Doctor Who would be rather odd in a good way, ironically he could do with regenerating-if you watch the very early episodes he seems to look just as old as he does now!

Re: More Hobbit pictures [4] SPOILER THREAD
The strange thing is he's a bit younger than Paul as well, but everyone always think it's the opposite.

Re: More Hobbit pictures [4] SPOILER THREAD
Air New Zealand has another one of their cute Hobbit tie-in videos out this year.
Re: More Hobbit pictures [4] SPOILER THREAD
That was more entertaining than watching AUJ!

I like the Air NZ videos and would love to fly in one of their Middle-earth liveried planes, but yeah, the national/governmental obsession is a bit weird.Recoveryanonymous wrote:New Zealand scares me sometimes.

Is Luke Evans really that short? or are Martin and Cummberbum standing on something?

Bilbo jingling the keys in front the of the dwarves. Kind of like you'd do with a cat or baby.

Yeah its still got that weird artificial light look, as if the whole film is taking place inside an xbox.

Re: More Hobbit pictures [4] SPOILER THREAD
I get that Freeman is probably just giving the finger for the documentary cameras, but has anyone seen a video clip of him where he seems genuinely happy to be involved with TH? Compared to most the Dwarf actors or really any of the ones who have been brought out for the marketing run, Freeman just seems really unenthusiastic. Maybe he just doesn't handle the media blitz well, though.
Re: More Hobbit pictures [4] SPOILER THREAD
I get the impression all the schmaltzy schmoozing is not for him. He is not really a Hollywood type. He seems very sensible and down to earth he probably hates all the WB bullshit.

Re: More Hobbit pictures [4] SPOILER THREAD
Yeah, could be. I'm going to watch the EE documentaries soon though and I'm curious to see if Freeman appears in those and if so what he's like.
He seems a lot more enthusiastic in his Sherlock interviews.

Re: More Hobbit pictures [4] SPOILER THREAD
Thats cause Sherlock has good writing that challenges him as an actor.
