Ive seen those "Asterix" films advertised, I saw the 1st one YEARS ago, they are daft, but fun ! I use to like watching the kids cartoon of Asterix. I like Gérard Depardieu very much. Reminds me of another set of silly French films.."les visiteurs", with Jean Reno.

Yeah, that was a good one also ! There IS a richness & depth that only the French seem to realise & tap into, seen Angel-A ? its a Luc Besson film, "A very Long Engagement"..."The extraudinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-sec" ?

I liked Betty Blue and Amelie and a fav of mine is Queen Margot with Isabelle Adjani, its AMAZING, i remember when I saw it I was nearly physically sick it was so brutal and yet visually gorgeous
Also Cyrano de Bergerac was very beautiful. The French do music and historic atmosphere very well.

i need to watch this, i have the two previous movies and i also have some comic-films (animated..)

(hilarously called the Normans throughout on the subtitles for some reason!)- Petty.

Vikings that settled in France settled in Normandie, why they are called normans i have no idea, cus that's the french, but maybe they're mixing them up with Nordmenn(north men)/norwegians Shrugging btw, the funny thing is that if you tell a typical norwegian joke in france they won't get it and just be like "da fuuq?", but in normandie they suddenly understand the jokes Laughing the humour survived.

Nordmenn- thats what it sounds like they say in the film (which of course is in French) its just the subtitles calls them Normans throughout instead of North men or norse men.
Plus the english accents are fantastic- cleverly they have gone for casting Brit actors who can do the french, rather than French actors pretending to be english- works like a charm.

I saw "Woman in Black" & thought it was reasonably good. Made me jump as well ! The bit that got me was, when Radcliffe was facing the hall & the lights went out one by one pale Bugger if Id stay in a creepy old house on my own !!

Tout les matins du monde with Gerard, a beautiful and sad story of a musician who has an old music teacher with a beautiful daughter, she falls in love and slowly kills herself when the musician (played by Gerards real son) Leaves her to become famous and work for the king. The music is mind boggling.its enough to make your soul weep tears of blood
