Well done halfy... you did it. Shame cant see pictures at the moment but sure that will get fixed.

Not sure if I visited the same waterfall or not but we did a little visit and had a swim in the river a little further down.

Did you see the plane crash? Isnt the whole psychological barrier of getting to the top strange and then seeing the sun come up just amazing?

And yes... the guides and general people are amazing too.

Pictures are showing up just fine for me. Particularly love the one of the glacier Halfy, and glad you didnt include the vomit in that one!

There must be more than 1 sign!! My picture is with the new metal one which I was disappointed about. Didnt know that wooden one was still there somewhere at Uhuru.

Hmm....never saw or remembered a metal sign, the crowd was around the wooden one. Didn't see the plane crash, but I at least was not in a state to go poking around much on top - half the rest of the crew were in good shape so might have taken the time but I didn't hear anything about it.

Umm...Indiana Jones would not have upchucked a half dozen times on the way up the mountain. I think we have to give that title to Lance, if he'd just post more pictures of his travels.

Amazing! I kind of admire and envy your sense of adventure cos I know from your description of altitude sickness that I wouldnt have had the willpower to go on. that altitude sickness sounds just the sort of thing I cant cope with, so the fact you overcame feeling horrible is to be admired, I think I would have just curled up into a ball and refused to move. made a complete plonker of myself, cried, moaned anything to get sent down the mountain sharpish. The landscape is totally alien and dreamlike, what a fantastic experience though if you can get past the collywobbles.

Yes, some stunning pics.  And well done managing such a comprehensive narration, when you obviously weren't feeling your best at the time.

And Cairo.  I haven't been myself, but my parents went a couple of years ago for that big Peer Gynt thing. So.. I've heard some stories.

Damn, that looks fantastic. Makes me want to order a ticket to somewhere and experience something, right now   And kudos for not giving up on your way up to the top! It might be psychological, but vomit usually feels rather physical

I've got one week off work before Christmas, and I'm going to spend it in Tallinn with a friend. It's in December, and I've heard Tallinn is a great place to be just before Christmas But thanks for the offer! (You might want to be careful with those offers, I've said yes to crazier things before )

I believe altitude sickness has a similar effect to the one you get when you unexpectedly meet a Scotshobbt in a respectable street in Needlehole. Just saying...

I utterly refute Orwell's claim on the basis there are no reputable streets in Needlehole (Least of all the one with Figgs Eel Emporioum and shoppe for Discerning Ladies on it)

Wait, are you implying I live there? And are therefore somehow respectable?  You know, saying things like that might get you sued in Forumshire.

Though I actually brought it up because of Odo. Haven't you guys been in some legal spats before? I remember reading something about that in the NotP, I think.

This seems quite fitting in the context of the recent spat of litigation.
