Ok. Cool.
Stumbled over this. A picture from the same spot just taken in autumn.

Re: Tales of Home [3]
Well that's nice. I've been in Oslo, btw. Only had about half a day there: enough time to see the old castle/fort, walk around a bit and get some coffee and pastry. I was actually in a conference (you don't want to know) that spent part of the time on a cruise ship between Kiel and Oslo.

Re: Tales of Home [3]
I spent half a day in Oslo, maybe saw one square km, then was gone never to return. Would have preferred more time, but that was the cruise schedule - had to get back to the on-ship conference room.
Unfortunately we entered the Fjord so early in the morning you couldn't really see it, though the return view was nice.

Yep, wasn't there long enough to say I really visited Norway, in fact I had forgotten about it until BB jogged my memory.

Nice to hear you've been around these parts Halfwise. Akershus Festning might not be a very representative view of the city though a good start. If you stayed longer I'm sure you would have found it's pretty nice in parts.
I'm really quite pleased you're aware of this part of Oslo, as while a lot of people might not know of it it's actually rather nice.
I'll let you be the "man of mystery" this time around then. I don't begrudge you that at all.Norc wrote:weeeeeeeee!!!

Re: Tales of Home [3]
haha.. well well..
on anoher note. i just got in from walking the dog. i am not joking. it snows so heavily i could barely keep my eyes open on the way back, with the wind against me and all. the snow was really deep and i had to walk in the wheel-tracks so not to get snow in my boots. Leopold didn't mind although he ended up looking like a snow-dog too. with ice and snow underneath and inside his coat. my face was all red and jeesus.. i just hurried back and i can't remember if the dog pooped or not. i even fell because there was ice underneath.. still walked him wearing a pajamas so maybe i asked for it..

Re: Tales of Home [3]
That sounds like proper winter. Though my nose and face was rather red as well on returning home earlier today.
The pyjamas part sounds a bit overzealous though. All the while you are a lot more hardened to the elements than us.

Norc sleeps in a ski suit. You soft southerners have fantasy views of pajamas.

Hardened to the cold elements. Stick her in the heat and she will melt... like all good vikings do
Re: Tales of Home [3]
Well, at least I only agreed with you being badass.

Still not as impressive as a Glasgow or northern lass in a skirt the size of a thin belt, bare legs and a crop top queuing outside a nightclub in January.

Re: Tales of Home [3]
One wouldn't be a proper Norwegian if there weren't a jacket, some gloves and a hat involved.
Though falling over in your pyjama bottomns. Brrrr. I don't envy you that.
Those booths sounds nice though.

Re: Tales of Home [3]
You wore a jacket?!
The booths were acceptable, but the jacket just kinda ruins it.
