I don't where knee socks though.

But then what do you wear with a kilt?  Surely you dont go sockless  - you cant creep up on the english through a field of thistles without very thick woollen socks you know.

Saw Tom Daley in town today. He had lots of girls with him!

I wouldn't want to do it in knee socks either: those things collect thistles like Norc collects swear words.

Or maybe I was thinking of cockle-burrs. Don't know if you have them over there, but they were a major impetus for jeans. (chaps are more for cactus and mesquite thorns). You won't catch no American wearing knee socks for protection.  
(Unless it's for keeping away the young women.)

He's a diver (yes I did have to google that) apparently the ladies like him, despite the facts he looks about 12 to me.

And as to you Halfy!  Leg warmers cover the entire leg, that sort of thing is not on with a kilt

I'm not sure I could name all 50... but think I would have a general idea of where most were if I had a list of them all.

I thought it was nice that he tried so hard to find Maryland, even though he was nowhere close.

for years I thought Washington was on the East coast, no idea why.

The city of Washington -- the national capital, also known as the District of Columbia -- is on the East Coast.  I live really near to it.  But the state of Washington is 3000+ miles away on the West Coast just south of Canada. That's where Dave lives.
