Re: Tales of Home [3]
Reminds me of that famous scottish saying, famed in song and tv advertising-
Different sort of moose mind you (its just Scots for a mouse)
Anyway, picture time! {{what do you mean again? }}}
Bit of a grey day today, but I like grey days-
Looking right-
Looking left-
Looking at a seagull on street light (why not )
A tree and a wall, both of which I liked-
Another tree, but if you look carefully at this one you may notice almost every branch has a small dark bird sitting on it, they are getting ready to head off to Africa for the summer, being smarter than the rest of us and not fancying the cold, the rain, the gale force winds and the snow much. They also make a hell of a noise chattering to each other nonstop all the time -
And lastly a touch of Autumn colour-

Re: Tales of Home [3]
You Fjordians would be better hibernating I reckon.
Was downtown earlier today, and on the way home, about 2 metres from the main road I found this little fellow, normally they disappear as soon as you see them, but this one was bold as brass as it went about its business and didnt seem to mind me at all- still got shit pic though Im afraid, as the little bugger still moved to fast-

Looks like the right size to be afraid of fly-swatters.

Re: Tales of Home [3]
I once woke up having fallen asleep in front of the t.v. and saw a little mouse on the carpet looking at me. A few seconds later it got bored and went about its business and never saw it again.

Re: Tales of Home [3]
I once lived in a house infested with mice, and after they outwitted a few traps decided to poison them. (Foreshadowing: not a good idea). For the next fews weeks, every couple of days as myself and room-mates were gathered around the telly, another mouse would come staggering out from underneath, crawl to a painful stop right in front of us as if to say "look what you've done to me!", and expire.
Those were the helpful mice. Then non-helful mice would crawl into the walls and expire, a fact we discovered as summer rolled in and the bodies would bake and putrefy in unobtainable crevices, stinking up the house.
Glue traps: they look at you with haggard, accusing eyes as you come for them.
Snap traps: you hear the snap at night, which normally only catches one body part. Then for the next several minutes you have to listen to their pitiable struggle as they slowly and painfully fade out of existence.
I think the best solution is just to move to a new house every year and burn the old one down.

Re: Tales of Home [3]
Fortunately for us, the only time we had a mouse problem there were cats involved (and they got off their lazy asses long enough to take care of it). All we humans had to do was handle clean-up duty.
Ants, on the other hand, we experimented with tons of different traps and ways of blocking and killing them.

Re: Tales of Home [3]
Two 'super yachts' in the docks at the moment.
Saw this one sail by last week. Apparently it went through tower bridge and had a boat and helicopter filming it for some reason. Came back down the river and moored up later on.
This one came in today. Can see them coming through the sluce gates and under a raised bridge. Puts size in to perspective with the tiny little cars waiting for the bridge to come back down as the boat sails by.
Another world for these people!!!

I liked the Nazgul bit- that was quite good. And nothing wrong with arsing about, lot of create works of art started out by just arsing around.

At school, I fucked around. I didn't get great grades considering the school I went to. I didn't go to university like everyone else did... I went to work at 18.
Now, lots of people I knew work where I work.... just doing the job I was 5 years ago!
