Re: Not so crabbit now! [2]
I was going to post this picture and say, even here where there has pratically been no snow for weeks you find remnants like this.
But then it goes ahead and snows properly over night.

As far as I remember from the books, they walk into a wooded hilly country when they first leave the main road after leaving Bree.
Though to look away from the books for a moment, they are certainly climbing steadily in the montage in the movie. Also it gets progressively darker until the second breakfast sceene. So it would make sense this is the morning on the second day. All of which makes the snow seem not so out of place.

I appreciated the little road rally moment as he tried to pass. But was she really filming backwards and forwards the whole time she was driving or was somebody in there with her?

Re: Not so crabbit now! [2]
I think she had a fixed swivel camera on the dashboard. from her jacket she looks like she could work in law & order maybe off duty idk its a shame women are a target for that crap a lot cos we drive more slowly. Once I got tailgated inches from my bumper so I slowed down because I knew if I had to stop in an Emergency it would have been curtains, then the idiot passed me and swerved in front of my car at the exit for the toll booth, blocking me off, with no one around to witness it, he got out of his car, so I locked my doors, took my (handy I had it with me) camera and calmly took photos of his face and licence plate, then I swerved round him, luckily small nippy car is useful, before he reached me and left him standing there. Luckily there was an exit which I took so he didnt know where I had gone and went to the police, but because he hadnt actually damaged me or my car they didnt do anything. In the UK he would have been visited by the police, but here in Italy unless they kill you its a shrug and dont waste our time attitude.
this is why that vid is sweet.

I know people like to bash the politically correct movement, but what you just saw is a direct result of it. Anybody who deals with kids will tell you they are innately good (sometimes selfish, but it's never biased by race, sex etc) unless influenced from outside; for they are also good social mimics.

Ok this is not funny as such, given there is very little funny in the situation, but it is one of life's little ironies that make you wonder.
The BBC report on the terrible kidnapping of school girls in Nigeria has the headline-
"Nigeria kidnapped girls 'shown' in new Boko Haram video"
Then the reporters name at the end-
Nick Child.

I never thought I'd say this about a full grown man, but Russell Brand is adorable.
