What, do you expect people on a Hobbit fan forum to like the LOTR films or something silly like that? Razz

Tolkien says they age slowly even they do not die, but not that they all stop at under 30 in appearance. After all by that reasoning why continue ageing at all after puberty has passed? Why 30? Why not 20? Why not 40?

The point being she is Galadriel and is 42, Hugo Weaving is in his 50's and is Elrond- so why restrict the casting of every other elf to under 30? Why would just these two elves age visibly to a point up to 20 years in excess of every other elf in the PJ universe. Its ageist is what it is.

celeborn was in late when he was filmed, and Cate would have been 31 when she was first filmed as galadriel, and hugo would have been in his 40s, you have to remember that that was 10 years ago.

So its ok to have all your lead elves over 30 (anyone know the age of whoever is playing Thranduil in this?) but when you cast for general elves they all have to be under 30- that makes no sense- if PJ is trying to say because they are immortal they all look young that is rather undermined by his leading characters is it not?
