starlight is still better than spooky green light. I have never seen a green dusk and twilight. PJ used the starlight to visually show their otherworldlyness. PJ did also use a pale Golden sunlight in Lothrorien. the scenes of the farewell were set in this pale gold light, and Frodo met Galadriel in the dream while he was in Shelobs cave in the same sunlit golden lighting.

The farewell takes place outside Lothlorien at the River- the lighting within Lothlorien is uniform starlight.
The green still retains a sense of otherworldy- probably more so- without it looking like every other night filter in the films- although I wouldnt personally call it spooky- it makes those scenes warmer to my mind, more earthy.

its not outside Lothlorien, they all part company while still in it. Once they are on the river they have left it.

I meant from a filming point of view its outside, its a different section- its shot completely differently regards lighting and it doesnt have the filter that the rest of the sequence does- the scene immediately before with Haldir and the parting afterwards are shot in 'normal' light.
The rest is all done with the starlight filter. I didnt change the lighting before or after just the main section. So the parting is lit the same.
