I'm in the suburbs so all the clubs are at least 20-30 minutes away.

It's a little mind-blowing when one thinks about it.

I'm lucky to live on the fringes of suburbia so it's not very far to some reasonably large parks and wooded areas. They're still too far to walk easily walk to, though.

the french are to blame for that kind of city planning

although Napoleon III's Paris is so very beautiful

Yeah, there are a bunch of Tolkien sites I'd basically have to hit up if I came anywhere close to the UK, and Oxford is on that list.

Since meeting so many people from Northern Europe on this forum I'd be curious to go to Scotland or Scandinavia or somewhere like that I don't know if it'd be practical.

I grew up in suburbia. fortunately there was a railroad track nearby to break the tedium.

Same here actually. I hear the whistles from the trains on a fairly regular basis. I thought that was the coolest thing when I was a little kid.

Are you looking to visit Europe for touristy reasons or something else bringing you here?

I have only been to Paris once... it was okay other than those French people. The outskirts as you come in via the channel tunnel is horrible. I wouldn't stray too far out of the main areas.

Madrid is okay too... they have a Michael Jackson impersonator. Will be visiting Barcelona in July so can let you know what I think of that.

London is cool... always lots to do and see but I prefer getting out to other places if I can... probably because I am there almost every day for work.
