Re: star trek thread
It seems like most of the remastered people shots are darker. Not sure I'm happy with that. Original Star Trek was always very bright and clear in my memory, conveying what the series was about. TNG darkened a bit, but not as much as those remasters.

Re: star trek thread
I took some screen grabs.
I think they are slightly darker, sort of, its more the contrast depth has been restored to the originals I think however.
I thought they did rather a good job with the ship of keeping a certain 'model' feel to it- they havent gone mad covering it in textures or anything.

Re: star trek thread
I think they did a very respectful job of the restoration myself- I was very happy when I watched them, not one scene in one single episode jarred or seemed out of place or pulledme out of it switching between new stuff and original.

Re: star trek thread
In all the reviews Ive seen or heard, its Cucumberbatch that steals the show ! its HIM that people comment on, not Chris Pine or Z. Quinto etc. They mention their CHARACTER performance but not their acting skills ? Im glad to say Colonbatch stole the show

Sniggardoodle Cabbagepatch is really the best, he outranks them sadly, he's the only impression people have after the movie.

its a bit like Alan Rickman stealing the show from Kevin Costner.

Half in the Bag reviews Into Darkness.
It's kinda funny given their stance on Star Trek '09, though they do explain it.

Re: star trek thread
They are still more generous that me.
After watching that and being reminded of the abomination that is the new film here is the entire Battle of the Mutara Nebula from Wrath of Khan and the ending with Spock to cleanse your pallete with- huge spoilers if you havent seen Wrath of Khan-
And cant have Wrath of Khan without this scene, no one does it ike Shatner-
Amazing how much Kirk and Khan dominate this film and yet never once share the screen together.

Re: star trek thread
Yes I reviewed it fairly, ie I gave it a well deserved kcking for achieving the impossible- managing to have more and bigger plot holes than the first one.
And I may also have mentioned in passing how completely awful every other apsect of it was.
I did say however the only problem with Cumberbum being in it, was whoever else he was in a scene with looked like they were doing bad amateur dramatics in comparison.

Re: star trek thread
omg, the gif!
btw, yepp Beachbody Cumbercat pretty much stealed the show. the review video i posted, he always mentions that and he even was more memorable than Alice Eve's naked body.
