Doctor Who [4]

I haven't watched much Who in my life, but being of roughly the same age for me Baker is THE Dr Who. I gave up on nu-who after seeing Tennant's basic wild-eyed approach to everything, but from what I've seen of Smith I think I'd like him. And his companions are so derned cute, especially the upcoming one.

I'd recommend a City of Death for taste of Bakers Doctor. (and the only period his companion was a fellow Time Lord- Romanna II)

Yes if he is in it I wil be very pleased- whilt the tv movie is a bit of a mess his performance as the Doctor is one of the few highlights- and I have listened to several serieis of the Big Finish 8th Doctor stories and am a big fan of those too.
Plus he is the Doctor who fought on the front lines in the Time War.

you know I dont remember one of his episodes, but I like the way he looks like Sirius Black.

Mccan only did one tv movie- after the show got pulled by the BBC it returned in 1996 in a joint venture with Fox of all people.
It was succesful in the UK but not in the US so Fox pulled out of making a series and the show went back into hiatus untill NuWho.

But Mccan has gone on to play the 8th Doctor in the audio plays- he has done more than any other Doctor of those and there are something like 8 series of his Doctor- I highly reccomend them.

Mmm still not sold on 3d and dont have a 3d tv anyway, and I assume it will also be shown non 3d so not to bothered about this either way- but I wonder if thats the main 50th anniverary show or just a 50th anniversary show?


ps if I was being very cynical and suspicous I might suspect all this 'Britishness' stuff the BBC has been spouting of late and appears to be making a feature of itself, is government propoganda designed to help affect the Scottish independence vote. If I was being suspicous that is.

The Radio Tmes is celebrating Who's 50th with a series of special covers featuring previous Who RT covers of the past.

Cinemas across Australia are to screen the Series 6 two-part opener The Impossible Astronaut and Day of the Moon next month.

The episodes - rated PG - will be shown on the big screen at 23 venues owned by the Event Cinemas chain: 12 of them in Queensland (Qld), eight in New South Wales (NSW), and one each in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), the Northern Territory (NT), and South Australia (SA). The cinema in the Northern Territory will be showing the episodes twice, on different days.

there's an old song with the refrain "I married my fathers mother-in-law: I am my own grandpa!" At least that's how I remember it, but looking up the lyrics I think I was listening to somebody who improved on the original.

I Am My Own Grandpa
