Not that I recall!

They were made of the back, and marketed on the Daleks. They are generally considered Dalek films first and foremost rather than Doctor Who films. And are most definitely not canon.

Dalek! Invasion Earth.

I've just about finished series 1 just have the finale left. I have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed it all the way through.

So is Eccelston your first Doctor then?
For many people the first Doctor they watch tends to be their favourite. I am curious to ee how it plays out if you watch a run all at once, which might be different for watching them as broadcast with all the time between episodes and series.

In non spolier terms the Doctor and Rose arrive in current day earth to investigate mytserous goings on at a school- and Sarah Jane is already got it under investigation- and they meet again after all this time.

To be honest the episode story is nothing to write home about, but the stuff between Sarah, the Doctor and Rose is excellent in the episode.

Following her appearence in this they created the Sarah JAne Adventures, a spin off kids show that was hugely successful and popular and which was sadly brought to an end only by her untimely death. Sad

Sarah Jane has met both 10th and 11th versions.

Final scene with 10

Meeting 11 for first time along with Pertwee era companion Jo Grant (and the only time RTD has written for the 11th Doctor)

Thanks. I didn't know the Doctor kept in touch with his old companions, but I'm glad. I think I saw her in an episode I came into in the middle once, but I didn't recognize her till just now.

Its aimed more directly at kids than Who is- but its still generally good quality with some excellent episodes.

Heres the episode the Doctor makes an appearence in. As well as Jo Grant and Sarah Jane.

(If your net speed is too slow you only need the first 30 secs as the first 30secs of this is the shows intro, on every episode- which basically tells you everything you need to know.)

He doesnt' they meet by accident- not looking back is kind of the Doctors thing, too painful. This aspect of him, abandoning his companions and moving on is one of the main themes of the episode School Reunion.

Matt Smith is to make his US acting debut in a movie written and directed by Ryan Gosling, the Doctor Who star's publicist has confirmed.
The film, How To Catch A Monster, will mark Smith's first American production - as well Gosling's first foray behind the camera.
According to its website, the project will weave "fantasy noir, horror and suspense into a modern-day fairytale".
Eva Mendes and Mad Men star Christina Hendricks will also appear.- BBC

According to some reports this is signs Smith is looking beyond his time as the Doctor and will quit very soon. (Would sadden me but shouldplease Mrs Figg)
According to the BBC Who page he is simply taking advantage of a five month gap in producion which is scheduled to allow everyone to do different projects (like Sherlock for Moffat).

This is really funny that you guys brought this up! I just barely watched that episode
Oh and Tennant is great so far, but don't think I like him better than Eccleston yet, but that could change.

Petty sorry to hear Smith will be leaving us soon, I am sure he will be as fascinating in that new film as he is in Who.

Everyone has favourite Doctors, and there is always a the next one!
Who is not a show for those who cant cope with change- every Doctor and every writing team change what the show is and add to the overall thing the show is.
I love Smith, my favourite Doctor, closely followed by Baker (4th) and Troughton (2nd), then Hartnell (1st) then Eccelston (9th) and McCann (8th) with Tennant and Mccoy (10th and 7th respectively) - I am not so keen on the other Baker (6th), Davidson was a bit dull for me (5th) and my least favourite is Pertwee (3rd).

Good explanation of it Petty. It was also interesting to see your list of favorites (Even if I don't know more than half of them). I read an article that had the last three doctors as the top three, then with the 4th doctor the fourth favorite

I guess it depends on age to a degree- for a lot of the people watching now they have only seen the NuWho Doctors- so they tend to be popular in polls.

I first watched Pertwee, but I was very young and my memory of it as transmitted is pretty vague- Baker (4th) was the Doctor I grew up with and he was in the role for 7 years, most of my childhood, so he was the Dooctor I knew- which is probably why I like Smith (11th) and Troughton(2nd) and evnd Mccoy (7th) so much, as they are the 3 most 'alien' eccentric Doctors.
Tennant is in the mold of the 5th and 3rd Doctors for me- a bit to straight down the middle, to normal basically for my tastes.
Although there are still episodes to enjoy in all those eras- there is no Who I dislike, but there are rubbsh individual episodes among them and some directions the show takes I like more than others- but when I dont like the direction you just have to wait a bit untl it changes again. (Like I had to do during the RTD era and Mrs Figg is doing now in the Moffat era).
