I sort of just choked on my jokes. Just got a msg from dad saying my grandma is doing very poorly, so I'll be toning it down a bit. But you lot don't have to. She was a fun lady, now lost in alzheimers. Just thought I'd mention it.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandma. My grandmother is also suffering from alzheimers or dementia (the doctors aren't entirely sure) and it's really sad to see. I hope you and your whole family are doing okay. My thoughts will be with you.

I spent a few hours with her yesterday after work. She has family with her and the nursing home is close by. It's sad, but not too unexpected.

It's a cruel irony Amarie, that some folk lose their minds, while others seem impervious to that kind of decay. My Father is 86 years old, walks a couple of k's a day, and is as sharp as a tack. My Mum is 81 and while physically frail, is pretty good up top still. I count my blessings. I wish you the best.

In all the years of working in this area of care I have never been able to detect any sort of pattern at all. People from all walks of life, varies states of health, intelligence. It doent seem to make a difference sadly, making it all the more firghtening as there doesnt seem to be a way of guarding against it.

I'm sorry this has struck your families Amarie and Eldo, but no matter how the people you know may seem to change or their personality to fall apart they are still as capable of astonishing moments of joy and happiness. All you can do is try to help them find as many of those moments as you can.

Sorry Norc, I do feel about falling so far behind on this one (though I know you're just teasing Wink

). That said, now that I've caught up on a lot of stuff and I'm back from my adventures in skiing I have more time to write. Smile

I did a little bit of work while I was away though I didn't have too much time then.
