Same. And the
- Spoiler:
flight through the downed Star Destroyer looked awesome? And what's with the bashed up Vader mask? Don't tell me if you know for sure.
This is what I'm afraid I already know from reading too much spoilers.

Yeah the cinematography was great! Although I've had issues with the scripts of Abrams Star Wars films, he's great at shooting and guiding the performances of sci-fi films, he's a huge star wars fan so hopefully the pressure got to him in a good way...
As for
- SPOILER:
- Vader's helmet I don't recall anything about that, but there was something else featured in the trailer which ties in with some of the rumours...I'll leave it at that...

The thing which worried me about the rumours was there was so many of them, it was hard to tell which could be true on not, Abrams confirmed some of them are true, so yeah I'm trying (and I'll almost certainly fail) to stay away from rumours from now on...

- MASSIVE RUMOURED SPOILERS:
- You mean them discovering Luke's old lightsabre, and Vader possibly being cloned? Both sound cool, but stupid fanwankery...

- I did not read anything about Vader being cloned. But I did read about the young characters discovering Luke's lightsaber and then going to find him. I also read that the main bad guy is collecting old force related relics like Vader's helmet.

- SPOILER:
- I was fine with the idea of them finding the lightsaber-a nice nod to the OT and a metaphor for Luke passing the torch...then I remembered it would have to drift through space and crash through a planet's atmosphere without burning up only to be found by the very people whon advance the plot how convenient The Vader Clone actually seems to be based on a similar thing from the junked Expanded Universe books, so it's probably bollocks...but if a studio was to pander to fans and teenagers, Disney would be the one to do it...

One thing is more or less certain, these films will surpass the Hobbit monstrosities as film making achievements. Whether or not the story is good, who knows, but I do have a cautiously optimistic attitude going into this.

How would a Wookiee do that exactly?
In a vat or a really big bathtub?

Re: Star Wars
From the age of 18, the Wookiees were viewed as full-fledged adults,[13] and were considered in their prime around the age of 200.[7]...Subsequently, Wookiees were qualified as "middle-aged" by 301–350, "old" by 351–399 and "venerable" at 400.[13]
-from wiki, I guess he's not a pensioner yet.
I'm surprised Peter Mayhew was involved in filming, he was confined to a wheelchair in recent years...

You could always watch The Star Wars Holiday Special if you want to find out about Chewbacca's homelife:

Re: Star Wars
"On the 2010 television program Times Talk, New York Times columnist David Carr asked Carrie Fisher about the special; she said that she made George Lucas give her a copy of the special in exchange for recording DVD commentary for the Star Wars films. She added that she shows it at parties, "mainly at the end of the night when I want people to leave."
Edit: I was going to post a clip of Carrie Fisher singing the sentimental closing song, but it was just too painful.

Somebody described it as 'passes right through so bad it's good, back to being bad.'
I have to thank you for introducing me to the Holiday Special, which I was actually unaware of.

I missed this post.
I've got a vague old memory of a large gathering of nerds in a dorm TV room when this first aired, only to discover it was basically a rehash of the Carrol Burnett Show in Storm Trooper costumes. I think I must have walked out early on, because I don't remember much of anything.
I' think I'll try to watch it tonight, if I can get up the nerve....... {{{{ mixture of anticipation and dread }}}}

Re: Star Wars
The Star Wars Holiday Special is more boring than anything else. I can never make it through the 10-15 minutes on un-subtitled Shyriiwook at the beginning ... even though I'm the kind of person who knows what the hell "Shyriiwook" is. I've tried skipping ahead to the rest but those seem pretty dull as well.
