Re: Star Wars
Well both actually. Why do they have to overlap their hands and smush their fingers together like that?

Re: Star Wars
It really is a horribly weak, awkward grip, isn't it?
If I had to guess, I'd say it's the photographer's fault. He may have felt the the light saber looked more iconic with more of the grip showing, rather than just the photoshopped blade extending from their hands.
Of course the mouse has some additional anatomical problems to deal with, especially with the hands.

Re: Star Wars
Harrison Ford has been injured on the set of the latest Star Wars film
Ford, 71, was airlifted to hospital after his ankle was injured by a garage door at Pinewood Studios, near London.
A spokesman for Thames Valley police said: "We were called just after 5pm to reports of a 71-year-old man being injured in an incident believed to involve a garage door.
"The man was airlifted to John Radcliffe Hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life threatening. The Health and Safety Executive is investigating."- BBC

Shouldn't have tried to park the Falcon in a garage
Jokes aside, "not believed to be life threatening" sounds serious enough Let's hope it's not very serious, and that he'll be all right (though I won't be sad to see the film delayed! )

Re: Star Wars
Thank the Force! It looks like JJ will be (mostly?) uninvolved with Episode VIII. Instead, the second film of the sequel trilogy will be written and directed by Rian Johnson. That's the guy behind Looper, the Bruce Willis/Joseph Gordon-Levitt time travel film from a couple of years ago. He was also an episode director for Breaking Bad, giving us "Fly" and "Ozymandias".

Re: Star Wars
Disney are moving quick!
I'm not sure about this, I saw and enjoyed Looper (but it wasn't as clever as everyone seems to think IMO, though it certainly felt less safe and generic than Abrams films) and perhaps having different directors will keep things fresh (like the OT) (at least Johnson has 3 years to prepare) and share the burden a bit, but it does seem kinda out of the blue, Katherine Kenneday stated a while ago she anticipated Abrams directing EP 8 if things were going well (perhaps the late script rewrites and Ford's accident have led to second thoughts), and I'm not sure the new trilogy having totally different approaches to filmaking each installment is a good thing.
I've still got my fingers crossed for a Tommy Wiseau directed spin off
I guess we'll have to wait and see.
I can't help but wonder where this leaves the earlier treatments for EP's 8/9 by Lucas etc.
And has anyone watched the holiday special? I've been watching the nostaglia critic review, it's... er memorable

Re: Star Wars
I've only seen part of Looper, but the time travel stuff was bad even by the nonsensical standards of time travel movies. It felt like it was trying way too hard to be clever, too. That said, it still felt more genuine than Abrams Trek (or at least STID), and "Fly" was pretty phenomenal, if also jarringly out of place next to the rest of Breaking Bad.
I can't imagine that much of the original Lucas treatment has been left intact. The script for VII has already been passed around between several different writers, and the changes are only going to snowball with yet more writers on the sequels. Disney was also very clear when they bought Lucasfilm that Lucas was giving up all control over the creative direction of the franchise, though they downplayed this in initial media interviews.
I tried, but I was not strong enough. Or as they say in Wookiee, eeeugragawhahwahwahwahwahwaooooooooooooowgrrrra!

Two of my favorite Breaking Bad episodes. Ozymandias is arguably the best episode of the entire series.

Re: Star Wars
Harrison Ford is out for 6 months. Given all the other cast's competing schedules this will add up to more than 6 months delay.

Shooting surely wasn't going to last six months (I would expect), so this will really set them back.

Re: Star Wars
I loved that scene between Walt and Jesse. Walt's dialogue about how he should have already died marked one of the major turning points in his character. Or rather, I should say it put into perfect words the reality that Walt's goals have changed: he is no longer simply caring for his family. This marked the beginning of the end for me.
As for Ozymandias... Well I'm not there yet--so we'll see--but reviews for the series claim that it is probably the best episode of the entire series.
Gosh darn I need to go watch more of Season 5!

Re: Star Wars
Well maybe he will just be flying the Falcon a lot, and they can shoot him sitting down (Do you get a space pilot license in SW, and if so do they do eye sight tests when you become a pensioner?- he might be in trouble if they do- he cant even see a door when its falling right at him!)

The Doctor would never miss such an obvious thing as a door falling on him!
Yet another example of Doctor Who's inherent superiority.
