Re: Star Wars
Supposedly After Earth was ruined from the start by Will Smith, who came up with the story, but I'm surprised that anyone from that movie is getting work on a project like Star Wars now. Whitta did also write The Book of Eli, which was entertaining, though I thought the twist was pretty dumb.
For what it's worth, Whitta posts on another forum I frequent, and he is a dedicated Special Edition/prequel hater.

NeoGAF. He deleted some of his more critical posts after getting the job but a few of them were collected here:

Re: Star Wars
Yeah, I can't say I'm thrilled by the idea of them churning out as many spin-off films as Disney has said they want, so I'm already biased to be skeptical about this film. It's certainly an interesting time to be a Star Wars fan. What remains to be seen is if that's a good thing.
Re: Star Wars
Was it officially confirmed that the spin-off movies were about Han Solo or Boba Fett? Or was that more of a rumor? I suppose their plans could change anyway.

Re: Star Wars
Thanks Petty. Mostly you just ruffle Mrs. Figg's feathers, but sometimes you just say what needs to be said!

Re: Star Wars
I always say what needs to be said just not always whats wise to say, or that a sober person would say.

He's looking a lot better than he was a few years ago (reference below). Good for him.
