Well yeah, that's the premiere. One theatre, one event, lots of celebrities, etc. Totally different from the nationwide release which has dozens or hundreds of theatres (thousands in the US but I don't know how many there are in Norway) open to the general public all at the same time. You don't have anything to worry about if you pre-order more than a few weeks in advance. Wink

they will mark the event here, but no celebreties, maybe down in Oslo, but not here. there will be prizes though, posters given away and people dressing up.

Only 3D, Ringo? noo!! my sister refuses to see 3D, and I can't go without here D: where are you planning to see it?

Oslo, Norc. I hope 2D tickets will show up eventually, but as of tonight there are only 3D tickets available Sad

. I did, however, discover something very awesome while I was looking for 2D tickets - all the three LotR films will be shown in one go the first weekend in November - in extended editions! Needless to say I now have tickets to all three films Very Happy

aaah!! unfair!! they're so bad at giving out information here in Tromsø. I had to visit their facebook page in order to figure out when the tickets were out. They're probably hosting a marathon, but how do I know! D:

at least maybe the tickets won't be sold out in a blink of an eye...

You're gonna love seeing the EEs in a theatre, Ringo! They did that in the US last summer and it was amazing, especially since I hadn't seen the movies when they first came out. Very Happy

That's an interesting look at the economic situation for NZ. I could have guessed that the global economy would be affecting tourism but I didn't know the exchange rate had changed that much. I also didn't realize Christchurch was still rebuilding after the earthquakes, though I should have.

I remember reading something about how there was a notable push to film the Hobbit in NZ. I guess that tourism really gave their economy a boon ten years ago. NZ must really be rooting for the Hobbit films to be hits, then.

It doesn't come out in the U.S. until Friday, December 14. Most movies come out on Fridays here. The LOTR films were exceptions but all three Hobbit movies are currently lined up for Friday releases.
