Re: Countdown to Release | SPOILER THREAD
That's obviously pretty long, but it's still almost 20 minutes less than the shortest LOTR movie. I wonder how long the Extended Editions will be.
Re: Countdown to Release | SPOILER THREAD
Disgusting?- cant be hobbit recipes then!
Still if someone has a seedcake recipe we will soon kow if Odo is dead or alive- he can't resist seedcake.

People can submit recipes and there was obviously no editing: one recipe has 'pb' (peanut butter) and oreos!
So no seedcakes, that's for sure.

Re: Countdown to Release | SPOILER THREAD
From this article here- http://collider.com/the-hobbit-set-visit/205464 (thanks to Slinger in Bree for pointing it out)
"The effects of the ring will gradually build up over the course of the Hobbit movies. Jackson says, “So the first time he puts it on it’s simply a magic ring, but each time he puts it on the effect of it gets to him a bit more.”
"McKellen would like to see a TV miniseries that adapts the full detail of the book in about thirteen hour-long episodes."
"McKellen thinks the script makes Gandalf a bit less bossy than he is in the book."
"Thorin’s father and grandfather were touched by the “dragon sickness,” a deadly obsession and attraction to gold."
-what? Does this mean PJ is adding all this stuff but leavingout the 7 dwarf rings that enhance their greed andlust and restlesness?
"Dwarf kingdoms are designed in a way that overcompensates for their short statures."
"On the Dwarves’ character traits: Ori is a mama’s boy and still sports purple bows she tied into his hair before leaving, Dwalin is a war-hardened soldier and wears his battle scars proudly, Dori controls the money during the voyage and is also fond of grooming his hair in an elaborate fashion, Bifur has an Orc axe embedded in his skull which causes a nervous tic and some mental impairment, Bombur is the most massive and the strongest of the Dwarves who also uses his beard as a garrote to draw enemies in against his stomach to dispatch them, Gloin exhibits shades of The Lord of the Rings’ Gimli, and Nori has the most dramatic silhouette, Balin has no mustache."
I dont know where to start in my horror reading this. And the best they can say about Nori is that he has a 'dramatic silhoutte' and of Balin that he lacks a moustache?
"In the book, the dwarves are distinguished by hoods of different colors. They didn’t want to be that literal in the film, so the colors have been pulled into other aspects of their respective costumes."

Eldorion wrote:Not sure where else to put this, but apparently Denny's has signed an agreement to become "Middle-earth's Diner" in the run-up to the films and is offering various Hobbit-inspired dishes. Despite the commercialism and unfortunate similarities to the "Lord of the Onion Rings" tie-in a decade ago, there's one other thing that really bothers me. Could they really not find any better restaurant chain to work with than freakin' Denny's?!
And now commercials.

I'm ashamed to admit that, while I cringed at that, I did also chuckle. But only a little!
Denny's is still disgusting. {{{Or it was; I've avoided them for years.}}}

Re: Countdown to Release | SPOILER THREAD
Denny's isn't about fine dining. It's about staying warm and safe between midnight and dawn for the price of a cup of coffee.
Just like McDonald's isn't about the food, it's about clean public restrooms in Europe.
Oh and wifi.

McDonald's restrooms are clean in Europe?
I actually do enjoy diner food quite a bit (aside from Denny's), but I can see your point.
