Re: RIP
Absolutely devastated by John Hurt's passing, one of the best character actors of his age, a fantastic ambassador for the British film industry and by all accounts a true gentleman he leaves a wonderful legacy but one I hoped would continue for years to come.
RIP.
RIP.

Re: RIP
Bill Paxton died on Saturday from heart surgery complications. You'd most likely recognize him from shows like Big Love, or films like Titanic (he played the modern-day treasure-hunter), Twister, Aliens, Apollo 13, or the more recent Live, Die, Repeat.
He was the only person to ever achieve one thing in particular.
R.I.P.

Re: RIP
{{Tragically young. Such a shame.
I have always felt a good deal of the tension and fear in Aliens comes from his performance- from the brash cocksure marine to the scared little boy. Its that change from one to the other I believe which best informs the audience of the scale of the peril. And whilst all the marine performances are over the top gung-ho in Aliens his is the one which really works, he measured the needs of the performance perfectly. }}

Re: RIP
That's one of my favourites of his roles. He's such an overconfident punk and it's greatly entertaining to watch his boasting be replaced by whining desperation.

I routinely woke up at 5:30 when I was teaching school. Now that it's summer the sun does that for me, but I can lay in bed and be smug about it.

Well, it would have been 7.42 at which point I would have been on the train for 20 mins. Some of us work for a living!
Re: RIP
If I didn't live a few minutes walk from work I'd have to be up earlier too.

Re: RIP
Adam West is gone. His Batman may not have matched the "comics", but his comical timing was the best and will always be the true Batman to me.

I've not really watched much of the Batman TV series, I knew West better from his role in Family Guy...
