Just heard the news Sad its sad yes but, as David says he lived a life & got to a great age. A multitude of films & his name is so iconic & well known, that wont pass so easily ! He can sit back & have a laugh with Peter Cushing about us "silly mortals" down here Neutral

Just saw this thread after posting in the one in The Hobbit forum. Agreed about Lee having such a full life. I keep discovering new things about him. His massive acting career, his heavy metal albums, his WWII special forces service, and so on. A pretty amazing life, not just a really long one.

RIP Sir Lee Sad

If you haven't checked it out, he also narrated an Audiobook of The Children of Hurin, his powerful voice is used to full effect.

Damn I enjoyed his work- especially on Star Trek 2.

Hers the Mutara Nebula piece as it appears in the film- its the score that makes it work so well-

He leaves as big a void as Kate Hepburn. Both could take any character, any dialogue, and pull out matchless life and gravitas.

Omar Sharif!

I don't even have anything to say, except that he was great.

I was on NPR looking for the podcast of this storytelling organisation and I saw that Roger Rees has died!

I just didn't think of him as being that old! He was 71, but still. Sad

Rest In Peace

Yes saw that on the news- not that old either, 72.
Another icon of the 60's gone.

Also Rowdy Roddy Piper, only 61- probably known to most as a WWF Wrestler (and yes it was WWF back then!!) but who will always be best known to me for starring in John Carpenters excellent They Live, and where he improvised the wonderful line "I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass....and I'm all out of bubblegum."
