Sorry to burst the internets bubble, but that picture clearly states that she's white. Albeit that's the weirdest way I've ever seen someone's race was identified in a story.
I suppose you could argue 'white' was referring to getting pale out of terror in that extract if you were desperate, but yeah Hermione is canonically white, though I don't really see why/how her ethnicity would effect the story...some of the more
And yeah, continuity was never one of Rowling's strongpoints, the closer you look at things the less it holds up, but that's true for most stories.

So the above-mentioned play, which will apparently be produced in two parts, is having its rehearsal script published this summer after the premiere. Skeptical as I am, I still imagine I will read it.

The cynical purist in me says no thanks , the curious man child in me will probably pre-order it ASAP
It's apparently based on Rowling's story but it will be interesting to see how A diffrent writer writes for a grown up Harry and co
(Apparently someone asked Rupert Grint recently what Hermione and Ron would be doing now...he thinks they'd be divorced so much for happy endings )

Well considering that even JKR apparently thinks that the Hermione/Ron ship was a mistake ... I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up in a Han/Leia in Episode VII type situation.

Re: Harry Potter
Watched HP6 on the telly today, and didn't hate it The only sane explanation I can think of is that it's been too many years since I actually read the books. I kept count of how many times I read them as a kid/early teenager, and I know I counted 11 times on book 4 at least, the other ones probably nearly as many times. So I never really thought I'd come to the point where I wanted to read the whole series again, but now I think I do! Perhaps that will be my next project after my current GoT reread

I remember GB trying to convince you and I of the merits of HP6 (the movie) way back when. Not totally sure where I stand on it now though. It was growing on me at one point but it's been probably 4.5 years since I've seen it.
I did try to start doing a whole series re-read last summer but I stalled out after the first two books cause of competing interests.

My bet is on Emma Watson

Re: Harry Potter
I'm honestly more curious how she's going to portray American Wizarding society than I am by the story itself (much less Scamander), but this being Rowling I imagine it's gonna be really trite and overplayed stereotypes more than anything else. Would love to be surprised, I just haven't been impressed by most of the material she's produced for the HP universe over the last several years. I still like the books (re-read several of them recently), but I don't know if that's just the nostalgia speaking or if she really has become more self-indulgent over the years.

HP will always be special for me. But I have no interest in anything else she has done. If she gave us more HP stories directly related to Harry and co, I would be very excited though.

Re: Harry Potter
I get where you're coming from, Mrs Figg. I don't think I'll ever feel the same way as I did with HP growing up while it was still coming out. I hope I can give her new stuff a fair shake, but if I go in expecting the magic to feel the same I know that won't happen.
Re: Harry Potter
So I take you are feeling equally on the Cursed Child?
I'll defintely read it, but why a stage show? and more importantly...why?
As she wrote at the end of the DH epilogue (which was probably unnecessary itself):

Re: Harry Potter
The one at Universal Orlando was fantastic. I posted some pictures of it on here before, but they've about doubled the size of the park since then so I'd love to go back one day.
Re: Harry Potter
Remember watching the first two videos a year back, and for it standing out as the best edited YTP (youtube poop) ever produced. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Afraid I never got into YTP myself, but I giggled at several points. Kinda reminds me of the Potter Puppet Pals, which only really connect with me maybe a third of the time these days, although when I was 12 it was the funniest shit ever.

Yeah, I wouldn't say I'm really a fan of most YTP, but when it's edited like this, I'd go for it any day
