Re: A Song of Ice and Fire
As long as Bronn, Brienne, Tyrion and Ser Jorah survive season 4, I will be ok-ish.

I hope Tywin dies. I haven't read the books, but the karma has to tip the Lannister's way at some point (although by the looks of the trailers it looks like Tyrion receives the brunt of it)

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire
I quite liked Tywin Lannisters character in the series. As opposed to a lot of other characters he seems to make his less than sympathetic decisions for a reason.
I don't know how much of that comes from Charles Dance performance though. He is great. And I feel a lot of what this series got right is right there in the casting. Charles Dance, Sean Bean... not to mention Peter Dinklage. And a whole lot of others.

Did you really manage to avoid spoilers for that last episode? That's quite impressive.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire
I think the only character that still doesnt convince me after 3 seasons is Cersei, she is beautiful but stiff and deadpan, seriously no emotions ever cross her face. I know she is supposed to be cold and calculating, but for heavens sake show the inner torment sometimes woman! its annoying. Same with Jon Snow, but he has got better as the seasons have passed and he has the excuse of being an inexperienced young actor.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire
this is sad.. but i am glad you're using spoiler tags.. (but please can u say what season the spoiler belongs to?)
Re: A Song of Ice and Fire
- Spoiler:
- Tyrion spears Tywin while sitting on the pot, (in his defense, he was cruelly provoked). Tyrion wryly notes that the rumor is not true: his father does not shit gold. (I could add something about Shae, but shall refrain.)
This is coming from the books, which roughly corresponds to seasons. Not filmed yet.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire
I wonder how that will be handled in the series. It's also interesting to note that the series is ahead of the books in some respects but considerably behind in others.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire
Well, I'm ahead of the series now Had a sneak peak at what you wrote in the spoiler, Halfwise, but I didn't dare to read much
- Spoiler:
- as I've not read anything about Tyrion in book 4 yet, so the last thing I read was him shooting Tywin on the shitter

- Spoiler:
- Tyrion kills her too for her betrayal of him. The series character seems to have a different arc than the book, though, so who knows what will happen in the series.

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire
- Spoiler:
- yeah it may be different (and I hope it will be) in the tv series, because they seem to love each other, I dont remember Shae betraying Tyrion in the series as of yet. But Martin would be daft to kill all the really popular characters like Tyrion and Shae. I personally need to feel continuity and if someone I really like dies it kind of puts me off a bit, although my favourites are hanging in there

Re: A Song of Ice and Fire
- Spoiler:
- Yeah, Shae seems to have genuine feelings for Tyrion in the series, where in the book, she, being a hired hooker, is just playing a part and both she and Tyrion know it. The series also develops a relationship between Shae and Sansa, where the books doesn't really have anything.

- If they're following the books, it means she will end up in his hometown, the name of which eludes me at the moment.
