series 4 (10th Doctor)
1. Silence in the library/ Forest of the dead (Rivers introduction- very important for everything that follows)

series 5 (11th Doctor)

1 The eleventh hour
2 the beast below (this is not 100% essential, but it does helkp establish the releationship between Amy and the Doctor)
3. The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone- 2 parter, but essential.
4. Vampires of venice (not necesary, but the first ten minutes probably is or following episodes wont make as much sense as you wont know where Rory came from)
5.The Hungry Earth/ Cold Blood- again not 100% necessary but the last 15 minutes are crucial, so at least watch that much or you wont know where Rory has gone)
6.Vincent and the Doctor
7 The Pandorica opens/the big Bang- season finale

series 6

1. the impossible astronaut/ day of the moon
2. The doctors wife
3 the rebel flesh/almost people
4 A good man goes to war/lets kill hitler
5 the god complex
6 the wedding of river song

had to post the list again Smile

Um, yeah turns out there were 2 survived. The Master is from the same generation as the Doctor- they went to the Academy together on Gallifrey- they were best friends. But things went awry.
That generation were called the Renegades- quite a few of them went rogue- the Master has been the Doctors enemy for a long time.

Ah, but when is "was"? You see it all gets a bit confusing for Time Lords. There's only one Master (sort of), there's only one Doctor (sort of) and from there it starts getting really interesting. The fun is in untangling it all! Don't worry if some of it needs sorting out later, just go with it.

edit: but yes, the Master is/was a rogue Time Lord.

There a good vid somewhere explaining the whole Time War malarky- I shall try to find it.

Whilst digging through old photos I came across one that had my toy Tardis and Dalek, from the 70's.
Ive had to crop it as the only photo it was in was of my brother not me.

(Even wastepaper bins in the 70's looked ridiculous! Very Happy )

When you get a chance watch the deleted scene- its funny, informative, short and has a Tolkien and a Star Wars reference in it- what more could you ask?

flesh and Stone deleted scene
Spoiler:

ps did you notice anything odd in the Angels two parter (I realise in Who 'odd' is a relative term!)

anything odd? that she had something in her eye but then when we see what was in her eye, it was the other eye? that she wore converse? That the angel grabbed his jacket, he took it off and ran, then later, he had his jacket again?

I thnk Norc- given how fast you are getting through them that I shall have to award you the Five Pointed Star for services to Who. Nod Once you are up to speed and ready for series 7 you will only have Genesis of the Daleks (4th Doctor story) to watch and you will qualify as a fully fledged Whovian. cheers

Well technically it was in both eyes- so they get away with that one.
You are however more observant than I on first watch though regards the jacket- well done! Very Happy Conitinuity? In Who- who needs it? Very Happy

edit add-
Flesh and Stone

Mrs Figg- you know as a Whovian yourself a favourite Doctor is a very personnal thing- and often associated by which you see most of first (although I happen to think 11 is probably on a par with 2 and 4- which before Matt were my joint no1 Doctors'- as a kid it was 4- he was 'my' Doctor, and will always therefore have a particularly special place in my Who loving heart.)
Eccy though is a great Doctor- def in my top 3, up there with 1, which is high praise indeed- I definently prefer him to Tennant the gurner and to 7, 6 and my personnal least favourite 5.
