The more madam scowls the more the Doctor prances and twirls like her Fool
Yeah, what she said.
Amy does do a lot, she just doesn't bring it home. The stories are interesting, her character is interesting and heartbreaking and the side characters are good. There's something about her that I don't like, a bitchysnobbyobnoxious face she keeps putting on.

Bollocks.

Sally Sparrow is far prettier and how come I dont have a problem with her?. You are scraping a barrel with that tired jealousy argument. She is boring and moaning and that makes the prettiest woman unpleasant to watch. Rose on the other hand is pretty and actually has a character. Which makes her facinating to watch. I am actually one of the most unjealous people you could ever meet and I appreciate female beauty without feeling threatened by it, jealousy is not my style.

Oh, Petty, I just knew you would bring that up. But I thought I would give you the benefit of the doubt and leave out "it's not because she is too pretty" from my post. Why don't you just scroll back to the first time we had this "you are just jealous because she is pretty" discussion, and save us the bother of repeating ourselves. Of course we will mention her face, that's were facial expression are located. And we women read faces and emotions, it's a female skill not unlike the famous "it's not what you said but the TONE you used!", which I am sure you have heard.

She appears cold and fake far too often, and I often find myself jumping in my seat as my instincts shout out "you can't trust her!".

But all scottish women look like that!
She looks perfectly normal to me, beautiful with a heart like ice and twice as treachrous to negotiate- thats why scottish women are so bloody formidable- you dont mess with a woman wearing that face- she's just a normal canny Scots lass.

So whats the problem? A moment ago you were describing her having a permanent scowl and doing nothing more than running about in a short skirt and Amarie was describing her as 'bitchysnobbyobnoxious face".
We need to find a bitchy cat claws emoticon! Why are women the hardest judges of other women? See it all the time at work.

Would it be clearer if I said she sometimes has a snobbybitchyobnoxious expression on her face? It's not the facial structure I am talking about.

If we assume you look like your brother, then you would still look like your brother even if he should happen to smile and you frown.

scratch Shrugging
Thats the expression Scots wimin tend to have on their coupons a lot of the time! (most of it actually)
All I know is that from Nuwho's start till Smith/Gillan I only shed a tear once (John Smiths speech right before he gives his life up in Family of Blood) and in general I was rarely emotionally moved much- but I've fought back a lot more watching series 5/6 and thats good enough for me as a way to judge it.

you seem to be taking my critisism of her facial expressions as critisism of her face, which is nonesense, I am not a fan of her acting skills, I have no feelings whatsoever on how she looks its totally not relevant. I critisize Rory too but you dont seem to mind about him? I dont understand why just because I am female I am in your mind being bitchy, I am just stating my opinion about someones acting, I think you are taking it way too personally. There are of course a lot of women who bitch about other women in offices but I find you insinuating that Amarie and I are petty minded catty females quite insulting. I thought you knew us by now?

I dont mind being called a bitch if I have deserved it, but I dont like being judged unfairly and I would never ever be a bitch about other peoples physical appearance. I was bullied at school for being skinny pale red haired and strange, they called me a witch, and this was before Harry Potter was cool, my only friends as a kid were my books and my cat, so when I read about Hermione Granger it kind of struck a cord about being an outsider and weird. I dont like bitchy women although I can be sarcastic its not nasty or malicious and I dont like being thought of as one of those small time office bullies that hate on the 'pretty' girls, but it was me that got hated on so its pretty ironic really.

I wasn't thinking of it that deply Mrs Figg- those two remarks simply struck me as unfair critsicms of anyone adn unnecessarily harsh- and they struck me as bitchy in similar manner to casual remarks I hear women make about other women in the staff rooom all the time. I would like to think I would have defended either of you against similar critiscisms were anyone to make it of you on here about you, even if I thought the basic complaint was justified.

A joke that needs explained is probably not a joke worth the telling. (And anyway Halfwise might be right in which it would be a waste of effort bothering). But if it really annoys you both so much I shall refrain from mentioning my nationality, kilts, buckie etc from hence forth. Let the blandness ensue.

methinks you can give it out but you cant take it. Typical Scot. You run out both buns blazing, and then leg it into the Scotch mist with your watsit between your legs at the first sign of a Sassenach, and a Sassenach female to boot. Hidin weet the wee lassies like Bonnie Prince Charlie. Cumon out and fight you wuss. Mad

I personally like Amy best of all the new-who companions, I find her least annoying and most relateable. I can't tell you why specifically, but I guess it's because she grew up with the doctor, and he's her best friend instead of his love interest. I feel like that always made episodes awkward... Besides! Her nose is almost as fine as mine! queen

Now, ladies and scotshobbit, I think you all let this whole thing get out of hand. You're all people of opinions and apparently none of you are afraid to speak them, but there's no need for aggressive tones or insulting posts here, we've managed quite fine without them in the past. If this keeps going I shall have no choice but to fetch my counter-insurgency kit and shut this rabble down! Mad
