Very Happy So it seems as last I knew the US was involved in Iraq, Israel, Egypt has ops in Iran and Syria and is bankrolled by Saudi- I'm pretty sure therefore when it comes to meddling in the region the US has it sown up.

Very true, that idea of theirs of unrestricted captialism with no oversight of the markets was a cracker too. We're all thanking them for their leadership there, all around the globe.

I wonder if America will ever fully realise just how much of the last 50 years of bad stuff happening the rest of the globe holds them responsible for?

Ok I really, really don't know what to make of this. Its just bizarre.
The first video is annoying, pop ups and comments and text all over the place, and its quite dry in presentation. However I urge you to at least listen to it, and to what this Lord is saying. Just ignore the conspiracy theory text. What is being said under the dry presentation if true is extrodinary.
The second video is an interview on sky news he did as a follow up to it.

Wish GB was here. He would just love this.

The conspiracy nonsesne I can do without. But what he is sayingis quite wild. That he has been contacted by a mystery group of important people on the world stage with not only huge funds but the gold to back it up, more than several countries reserves added together. And that they want to use it to save the worlds economy, staring by giving the UK government all it wants for schools, hospitals etc but only if the top minsters do the deal and nly through the top secrecy channels?
And its coming from a LOrd in the HOuse of Lords who formerly was one of the top guys in the City of LOndon, so one of the top in world finance, and who handled terrorist money etc in the past as he admits and knows a dodgy deal when he sees it.
I really dont know what to say to it.

David Cameron has been talking to the Churches. This is rare in UK politics for a PM. Even Blair, our most religous leader in recent years by a long shot, didn't tell anyone he was that religous whilst in Office.
Apprently, according to Cameron, Britain is still a Christian country and shying away from our Christian roots and its morality was to blame for the MP's expenses scandal, greed in the city and the London riots.
And there I was thinking an old boys network and a nod and a wink culture at Westminister was responsible for the expenses, a complete slacking and lack of regulation for the banking crisis and government austerity measures hitting services to the poor and needy, combined with seeing the banks swan off on a luxury yacht with all our money was to blame for the riots.
Stupid me it was the lack of an imaginary superbeing in our lifes that was responsible. Don't I just feel silly now. Rolling Eyes

From this morning apparently.
Doubt it will do him much good. Most people in Scotland anyway use the Church as a sort of public commodity to celebrate births and marriages in and to hold funerals. Beyond the occasional xmas eve ceremony to help get in the xmas spirit thats about all most folks have to do with organised religion.

I can't stand people who use religion in arguments like that. Aside from being offense to all non-Christians (don't believe in Jesus? You must not be moral!) it's a distraction from the actual causes of problems like social unrest and corruption and is therefore counterproductive. Sadly this sort of rhetoric is quite popular in America, but I hope that the British people can see past it.

You've got to love spiritual masochism. Rolling Eyes Although, to be fair to the guy in the video, Christopher Hitchens did say that a Heaven that is "eternal praise" of God sounded like Hell to him. Razz

Orwell wrote:Christopher was a strange one. Fancy hating and resisting a God he didn't believe even existed! Shocked

I don't pretend to be a Hitchens expert, but I always got the sense that he hated and resisted religion, not God (since as you point out, he didn't believe in God).

From the BBC news page;

'One of the world's biggest insurance companies organised an orgy with prostitutes for its top salesmen at a Hungarian spa. Ergo, a division of German firm Munich Re, has confirmed that this happened in 2007.
Gerhard Schneibel, journalist for the media organisation Deutsche Welle, told BBC Radio 5 live: "There was plenty of alcohol and 20 prostitutes there. They had colour-coded arm-bands, apparently," Schneibel explained to 5 live Breakfast. "One was for regular hostesses, the other was for prostitutes, and the white ribbon was for prostitutes reserved for top management."

Right, so which way is Germany from Forumshire? Time for a career change! Very Happy
