Great song

  like the song, not so keen on seeing tits & bums but hey, thats showbiz !

I used to have a mate whose mother was a dancer in the theatre. Back then no homosexuals were allowed in society in case they upset the children or spread it about to ordinary folks or something, and the theatre was one of the main places they seemed to gather- her whole life afterwards whenever she meant to imply someone was gay or lesbian she would whisper "they are in the 'business'".
It is indeed a funny old game Showbusiness. Or should that be funny old Dame?

Anyway music- and I am putting these here rather on the computer games thread because, well that's kind of my point.
I dont think games music gets the recognition it deserves in comparison to films and tv.
And there is one man in particular I would like to highlight first and that is David Whittaker- who wrote games music when computers went mainly 'beep' or 'bong'. Yet he devised genius little melodies, and catchy riffs and surreal soundscapes that totally encapsulated their games- now this first one is so going to sound bleepy- but its still full of mood and weirdness that completely compliments the surreal nature of the game (a classic itself written by genius programmer Geoff Crammond).

To give you a better flavour perhaps- or less harsh on the ear sound wise at least- here is Whittakers main theme for psygnosis Shadow of the Beast as played on stuff resembling instruments-



Whitaker was to games music what Williams was to cinema- but he doesnt get anything like the recognition for his pioneering work in using games music as part of the experience.

Damn it! Left my earphones at home so cant see which Final Fantasy 7 tune it is. Was a great score though!

shadow of the beast took me back to my Rick Wakeman days ! for some reason, & dont get me wrong but, this track reminds me of CC 12 35 ??

Its the opening theme from FF7 Azriel- with the beach and the sword fight and the white leaf bit. Lot of choral stuff.

Classic Wakeman track- and yes it is quite, familiar!

Assume that was aimed at me petty? And also now need to listen even more as the scene you mention is from FF8. FF7 starts on a train pulling up at a station in the city of Midgar

Some of the FF7 tunes are food. Aeriths theme is quite sweet... piano versions are normally best although have heard 1 really good violin version.

one winged angel is an odd song (goes with final boss battle).

I want to petition for a change to the end of FF7. There is no way a 2 min galaxy strike with One Winged Angel playing should do no damage.

Continuing the theme of game music- this is from Silent Hill 4: The Room and is definitely in my top 5 of haunting game music.
