NB Your new name is Odorwell until you can decide if "Glenn" on New-THM is Odo or Orwell.
Re: Hobbit Forum Refugees
Reading some of this gave me a terrible feeling. When I was a council member I don't remember being able to remove a whole thread, who would ever do such a thing, but I do remember removing a post, no two posts. And something weird happened when I removed a particularly awful post not fit for little ones, but only after I could not do anything else. Usually I asked one of the longest standing members for help.
But this one and only time, I removed this offensive post and was shocked to find the whole thread missing the next day. We had to restart it the next day. After that no matter what anyone said I let it go and left it to others to deal with.
But I never witnessed Dawson do that sort of thing. He is a gentleman and so very kind and fair. Of course I have not been back t here since last year so I don't know what is happening since I resigned as council member.
This name you gave Orwell, I laughed for half an hour!
I miss Tin and what happened to Saradoc or is he one of you?

Re: Hobbit Forum Refugees
Yeah, these old threads are rarely happy reading for us Dark Planetarians. But this is where they came to yell and shout. It was a bit frustrating and infuriation to tip toeing around to see how folks were doing and if I could help with anything. I kept reminding myself that replying to accusations and angry comments wouldn't do any good, since even the most polite reply was read like the Devil reads the Bible. (Don't know if you use that saying in English.) Much better to focus on the positive things and the funny bits.
I see some old Forumshire threads resurfacing from time to time. I don't know if all the threads ever made the transfer, the moving company was highly unreliable! Bet they were saboteurs from Torn. Dawson always have the best intentions, but it doesn't always go as planned.
Unless I am mistaken, the thread and some posts were removed due to posting advertisements without permission (repeatedly, and a bit hostile).
{{{Unfortunately "delete thread" is right next to "delete post" so it's easy to get it wrong. Been there, done that and Taz couldn't bring it back. Luckily is was pretty much identical to another thread so nobody noticed.
Are you coming back to Council, Leelee? We keep dusting of your seat and hoping you'l be back. There is nothing going on, but I know Arwen would be so happy to have you back.}}}

WHAT?! I can? And I did not know you were still on there, what a shock.
Speaking of Lady Arwen, I received a happy birthday from her in my box HERE a little while ago , and I still receive all kinds of lovely things from her for Hasia and etc. She and her twin brother have made wonderful contributions
You know our Eldorion is very diplomatic and kind too. I have not seen that on other forums, except for Dawson and him.

Re: Hobbit Forum Refugees
The worst thing about all these old threads that resurface is seeing old GB's avatar again and being reminded of how sorely missed his voice is around here

I can only imagine I remember you saying he was still active, and that is some comfort at least

Those two web lords have a few things in common, but I haven't felt it was quite ok to say so.leelee wrote:WHAT?! I can? And I did not know you were still on there, what a shock.

I would never quit from PT, I'm just um.... hardly ever there unless I feel called upon to be caring/meddling CM for a minute or two. Oh to have time for it all...

I 've just proven that Evolution exists - at least in Forumshire. Encryption spells used be like this (((())))) but evolved to this {{{{}}}}}. It's in this Thread! Actual proof! Creationists - foo!

Re: Hobbit Forum Refugees
If my buckie brain recalls aright the origanal encryption brackets were being routinely hacked and read by those who should not have been!
And the current brackets were a new super encryption spell to stop the hacking. Sadly we seem to need another upgrade given how routinely some people seem to hack messages, especially some people with special encryption hacking eels.

Re: Hobbit Forum Refugees
My memory of the history of encryption brackets is the same as Petty's. Maybe [[[[[[]]]]]] could be the next phase of evolution?
Re: Hobbit Forum Refugees
That would be going from classic victorian curly to post modern block letters. A complete loss of atmosphere. Don't do it!

Re: Hobbit Forum Refugees
I feel like those were done already, too... so it would be anti evolution. Some people just got confused I suppose.
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{ Regardless, I have the anti-encryption spell, so whatever it evolves into I can always break it! But I won't, that would be abuse of power!!!!!}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Having just looked at Bree it seems me and Sin are accounting for most of the posting at the moment.
