With any luck a few of our old lost members may check in there still on and off. Good stuff Kafria.

Re: Hobbit Forum Refugees
I made a polite inquiry about it on the Dark Planet New Members Thread. I'm trusting it's not where you thought you left it. There has been a bit of activity the last few days and so it might have dropped off the recent post list. I have posted over there several times recently and hope I have been able to assist our new friends in generating renewed vigor. I really do hope Forumshire has just dropped off that list.

It was definitely the Advertisements forum but I can't find it anymore either. Perhaps Taz or a mod decided to delete the links in compliance with their family friendly policy, though it also may have just been a technical error. Either way, after everything Taz has done for us with the archive forum I'm going to refrain from working myself up into a frenzy over it. Peace out!

Great idea! It's been a while but hopefully some of the old regulars still go by there or will look back out of nostalgia and see that thread.
Re: Hobbit Forum Refugees
so.... do we know why the thread was taken down???? I think we have a right to know/ask? Right?

Had another look, Petty. I think it's been removed alright. But is the culprit Taz? Can their Council Members remove threads. Yes, they can! Up front, it does not sound like Taz or Rednell. Can you guess who I suspect to be the culprit - or at least prime mover. Your hint: a Pharisee, a former visitor here - though one should not jump to conclusions - or should one?

I am noone on Planet Tolkien, I help with one thread, do you have a poem. I never asked anyone to do away with your thread, and after asking for all the rest of your material to be returned, does that even make sense to you. What is yours is yours and you should have every word. Again, you might have just asked me. I am a pharasee, I see. Well that does not change my care and affection for all of you. I wish you the very best, hope you find every missing friend and 'family member' and enjoy many happy years together sharing and learning of one another.

Re: Hobbit Forum Refugees
You might be able to tell me what happened to it, though. It's removal, without any explanation, could easily be seen as shabby, leelee. (As to the Pharisee, I suspect only).

Re: Hobbit Forum Refugees
Oh how they quibble
oh how they fight
why does every hobbit
think they're right?
slosh out the buckie
thick as tar
kick up your heels
tra lar lar
join your hands
dance in a ring
under the Evenstar
sigh and sing
for life's too short
for unpleasant words
forgetting harsh words
is Godly, I heard
and even if God
does not exist
the buckie's strong -
we'll soon be pissed
and full of spirit
our cares will wane
Pharisee? or God-hater? -
What's in a name?
Where two stand
at loggerheads
stand two silly mortals
or so it's said.

Buckie, or a good sense of humor and a bunch of buckie lovers to laugh at. I favor the latter.

The thread in question (link found via Google) does appear to have been deleted, but before you all go on another drunken rant/rampage I suggest that you try to figure out what actually happened from someone who knew instead of making inappropriate insinuations. And yes, I know that I will be quoted out of context by the DP on this.
Re: Hobbit Forum Refugees
The biggest worry, dear Eldo, is that on this occasion you may be quoted "in" context!

I can deal with that. People should at least know what they're ranting about.
Re: Hobbit Forum Refugees
I think I'll simplify things and just pretend Dark Planet doesn't exist. Something unsavory about that place -- and, no, I'm not saying everyone there is unsavory, Eldo. Whoever removed Forumshire did it for a reason. I think it bad form, full stop. Not unlike how this whole problem began in the first place. Not nice. As I said, I'll pretend the place doesn't exist. I'll think instead of Chris' arrrival. Much better to think about that. Our kind of guy. No subterfuge or fakery with him.

Re: Hobbit Forum Refugees
Yeah, (I'm agreeing with Orwell) and anyway as there is no link to the DP on t-h-m.com anyway, and Kafria's link is on the forums there, I don't think we really needed a thread to get back members there anyhow. But it is an obvious slur against our right to self-promote, very disgraceful!

Re: Hobbit Forum Refugees
Unless of course it's a technical error. On my other forum stuff like that is a pretty much daily occurrence just because of coding errors, and while the DP doesn't seem to have problems like that with frequency, you still don't know why the thread disappeared. Sure, the circumstances are suspicious, but you're still just speculating. I really don't think that's grounds for accusations since leelee, Taz, and many others have been so nice to us lately.
Re: Hobbit Forum Refugees
Very reasoned and thoughtful of you Eldo, but if its ok with you I would much rather get drunk, over react, rant, rave, believe the papers and declare war before finally collapsing in a muttering unfriendly heap- same as usual in fact.

Re: Hobbit Forum Refugees
Thought I better get this Thread out of the cupboard. Eldo's gone and told one of those nice folk on the (New) Hobbit Movie Forum how to go contacting Taz - on his email, in fact (which email address I'm guessing Eldo keeps on his sideboardd close to hand, somewhat like a Palantir! ) This, of couse, will mean that the Dark Lord of Planet Tolkien will know the Hobbit Movie Forum is prospering, and in a Co-operative and not Rule-based manner. Has our Gay Young Admin learned nothing from History? Those who don't learn from it repeat it, I hear tell. Or is there something we don't know about our own Lord (Dark? )
At least the New Refugees will now have a safe place to rest before setting out on their own adventure. Gee, I feel nostalgic. ( )

Re: Hobbit Forum Refugees
Geez, Odorwell, I'm just trying to be helpful since I remember how frustrating it is to have an absentee admin. And I had to go look through my inbox from over the summer when Taz sent me the back-up of the old forum to remember his e-mail.
