What? Are you ashamed to be called a "refugee"? I think it's a sign of respectability when assigned to us (or Me anyway). The True Believers. Tush! I'm going now. (((((Alright Primmy, I'm getting my coat! Err... Eldo, Primmy sends her love. Embarassed Bye now...))))).

Expensive! Why don't they give trees out for free? What about the environment? Sad

I've just got to nip out, I left my sporran at home. Embarassed -this is worse than that time someone said "Its your round."

(I don't have paypal, is it easy to set up and secure? A Scotshobbit has to be careful about these things you know)

I think so, though I'll be getting my missus to do the transaction once Eldo tells me where to paypel it to. She's clever that way. Spending money in all manner of ways is her forte, actually. Very Happy

Not, I hasten to add, because she is a woman and has a natural inborn talent, she spends money as a modern emancipated equal! Let's me clear on that point, Petty.

Mmmm sincere study Nope it ain't in the Official Tyrant Dictionary. Does it mean 'say whatever is necessary to stop her staring at the back of your head in that uncomfortable fashion'?

She has just taken my son out to pick up a new computer. We may talk freely now - not that I'm frightened at all at speaking my mind, Petty. You know that.

NB Did you receive my email all-systems-go?

Now Squach I am not sure if thats a geniune enquiry or an extraction of urine! We Scots are careful about having buckie and acquiring buckie (bit like dwarves and gold) but we might be considered less careful with buckie. This may be because the more buckie you have the lesss capable you become! Very Happy

Mmm... Had a bit of a chat with Odo. He's pretty much agreed he should look after the generally "disrespectable threads", while I monitor and engage folk on the more "serious" threads. (Though this can only be a general plan as threads do tend to have their own weft and warp! Laughing ) I don't know how much I can trust him, but I think it might help smooth the way for New Forumers who are unsure - or uninterested - in some of our less-serious Forumshire ways! What do you other folk think?

Are these rules by the backdoor Orwell? (I knew somewhere the cop was lurking waiting to impose order on things!!). I think in general we do alright- the Tolkien threads, news threads etc tend to be relatively on topic, as does the BBST, Dr Who, YT thread and as to the others, well they were made for not sticking to a topic. So long as we keep the 'serious' threads relatively clear of too much nonsense and creativity we should be ok I think.

Just raising possibilitities. As I said, my suggestion could easily be blown out of the water by the likes of Odo anyway, respectable but how reliable? He seems to have a natural distaste for anything but rule-of-thumb proprieties. You know, he trusts people to know where the cross-over line is, even if he does not always seem to know where that line is himself. (The line being invisible, and quite possibly elastic, I suppose I can't really blame him! Very Happy )

The most amazing thing has just happened, folks. I went and visited the Dark Planet folk. That' s not the amazing bit though, people do that every day, millions of folk live on Dark Planet in fact, it's a hobbit empire. The amazing thing is, one gets a hobbit name there - they just give you it - free - and guess what mine is. Go on, guess --- yep, it's "Odo Clayhanger." I must tell Odo. It's like we're now related... somehow... esoterically at least! Actually, I seem to remember the Clayhanger-Bankses who lived on Clayey Creek in Ozhobbiton, before they moved to Scotshobbiton-up-the-Vale and became MacBankses... This just gets more amazing by the second... Shocked

Can any of the Refugees here remember what the name of a couple of threads on the Old Forum were, and where they were? There was Petty's Woodhall picnic, and a couple of threads where Wisey and Odo were given (or they took??) a full head of steam. Can't seem to find them in our Archived Past Forum?

The Woodhall picnic is on the third page of the Other Fantasy Stories forum. http://the-hobbit-movie.com/oldforum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=574 I seem to recall many, many instances where Wisey and Odo went crazy so I'm afraid I'm not sure what you mean about the second thread.

Here to help! Very Happy

EDIT: I'm rereading the Woodhall thread now. I completely forgot that Wisey used to call me Lord Eldorion. Laughing It's so good to have the old threads back.

I think that's a side-effect of having the ability to make new posts disabled (since it is, after all, an archive). All of the posts are visible when you're not logged in though. Wink

Pretty has informed me she cannot find the Forumshire thread on the Dark Planet anymore and fears the evil Taz has had it destroyed! However as its Pretty she may just have got distracted by something shiny so could a clearer head check it out. She says she is sure she left it in the advertisment thread there but can't find it now- typial woman!
