Relationships between characters
as in Drarry is a ship between Draco and Harry from Harry Potter

seriously, the words describing the three episodes are RAT, WEDDING and BOW.
rat as in pet? wedding as in John's (and Sherlock's) and bow as in bow tie and the doctor?

Well wedding could be in reference to John- he eventually gets married in the books but his future wife, Mary Morstan, is first introduced in A Sign of Four- which hasnt been adapted for Sherlock yet.

Rats and bows no idea so far- but there are 56 short stories and 4 novels!

It could be rat as in, 'you dirty rat'. or it could be rat as in Sherlock living with the rat people in the sewers of London, trying to learn their culture and squeaks in case he comes in contact with a cadaver locked in a cellar and by knowing the rats eating patterns and preferences towards cadaver, could ascertain whether said cadaver has been poisoned by the rats refusal to eat it or not.

Didn't they say that Sherlock and John wouldn't be living together anymore in series three? I think it makes sense that John is going to get married -- or try to, anyway. Razz

I know I'm alone in liking the RDJ Sherlock Holmes but I loved their take on Mary Morstan (at least in the first film) and would be very curious to see what Moffat would make of her.

you're not alone at liking RDJ holmes Wink

the third season however, if watson is to marry and move out, that could be a rather funny subject. Because how would that go? Will he marry before discovering Sherlock's alive? no, because the first episode is rat and the second is wedding. Will he move out? I think all this wedding is gonna be hard, as Sherlock is rather... needy when it comes to Watson and his "wow"s and "that's amazing!"s.

found this on tumblr. no real source so can't be too certain, but some of them (most) i know are real, because I remember them from interviews. mainly the last one I doubt as I haven't found any source.

also. martin freeman is on tumblr.

““Benedict (Cumberbatch, who is playing Sherlock) looks amazing. He’s still got a Sherlockian silhouette, with a large overcoat, but in a classic cut. Watson dresses with an urban elegance, a touch of old school dashing, giving a feeling of both the military and medical profession. I suppose it’s something they have in common as well. They’re a bit metrosexual.”
—Martin Freeman

“Sherlock and Watson are a love story”
-Martin Freeman

”Sherlock and Watson meet at the right point in their lives, when they need each other the most. It’s a love story. Sherlock is upset because nobody can see the world the way he does. Watson misses the adrenalin and the constant life or death situations,”
—Martin Freeman

“Obviously it’s Sherlock’s show but there’s far more parity than I think there often is in that relationship. I know [creators] Steven [Moffat] and Mark [Gatiss] primarily wanted the show to be about that relationship as much if not more than anything else. [It’s about the relationship] and how it develops and how it changes and the things that wind each other up, the things that they genuinely sort of love about each other as well. It’s the gayest story in the history of television… People certainly run with that which I’m quite happy with! But we all saw it as a love story. Not just a love story, but those two people who do love each other - a slightly dysfunctional relationship sometimes, but a relationship that works. They get results.”
—-Martin Freeman

“I guess like any friendship, marriage, or whatever it is familiarity breeds more contempt, and more love. They’re just more settled with each other now.”
—Martin Freeman

“Everyone’s been asking us if we’re going any further with the relationship between John and Sherlock, and I’m thinking, well, why not? I really don’t see the problem with it, and Mark (Gatiss) has already asked us if it would be an issue if we were to kiss on screen. Of course he was joking, but I wouldn’t mind at all.”
— Martin Freeman”

If they were to go down that route thats where I give up- and not for some homophobic reason but purely because its no longer the stories I know and love.
I hate rewriting of works to fit whatever current trend there is- its sacrilege.
For me one of the reasons Sherlock has worked so well so far is that it updates and reinterprets the stories of the originals without changing the basic fundamentals of the books or the characters- such a change would I believe irretrievably ruin the relationship between the two characters and for me would take away any point in watching.
It also gives out a poor message- that two men cannot have genuine love for one another without there being a homosexual or sexual content to the relationship. Which is simply nonsense.
Its no better in my view than making Frodo and Sam gay and I don't honestly believe they would go down this route.

It also removes the fun and mystery. Its fun speculating, but nobody wants them to actually kiss, thats not very subtle. The subtext is the fun part not the nitty gritty. If they do end up lovers it will make me not want to watch, not because I am homophobic but for the reasons Petty said, its a modernization too far, like kick ass babes. It would be the same with the Doctor, I like unspoken love thingies not blatant snogging. that made me think of the 'Turn Left' episode, when Donna asked Rose if she and the Doctor were an item, Rose didnt say anything, she just looked at Donna with a 'yes we were' face and Donna understood.
