Re: Sherlock - BBC
Not sure what youmean by false Norc?
Production wise it is typical of mid 80's tv- maybe its just that.
when he had dressed up- who?
Holmes was published in the 1880's (same decade Jack the Ripper struck in fact)
Tarmacadam, used on road surfaces (Scots hobbitinvention of course) was about the end of the 19th century too- not sure what Londons roads were before then.

I watched Perception last night. Its got the cute guy from Will & Grace, and thats about it. Anyone who has seen Sherlock BBC is going to think its a bad ripoff. and he is supposed to be mentaly ill and sees invisible people. Its a laugh a minute. Not. its like a mix of House, Sherlock, and basically has the cute tormented brilliant loner, with mental problems, has cute wise cracking female sidekick also with relationship problems, fancies cute tormented guy, but never gets to snog cute tormented guy. Has cute black brainy sidekick who is long suffering but loves cute guy really. Sees stuff that aint there, does weird floating letters in mid air thing to show the programm is trendy and 'kewl'.

probably dirt or brick and wooden pavements.
I mean the music sounded out of tune, especially the piano sounded really poor.
The first Sherlock-undercover freaked me out.
i really liked the ep/vid.. I liked how it was similar and not similar to the BBC one

well. not gonna watch that then
Re: Sherlock - BBC
Glad you enjoyed the episode Norc- I hought the old skool pacing and lack of camera moving every 2 seconds might have made it seem overly dull to your generation.
For me, good as Cumerbum is, Brett is the definite Holmes, his performance is so controlled and so intense, and so inward it actually drove the actor into mental illness- now thats dedication to the role.
And I find it a good comparison to Moffats version- its interesting to see which bits he kept and how he modernised others.
Holmes was a master of disguise- that episode is a particular good example of it- but Moffat did keep him pretending to be a priest at Adlers house- even if in Moffats it only involved a fake dog collar and a whimpering voice.
And the ruse for getting her to reveal her stash point is the same too amongst other things.

Re: Sherlock - BBC
yeah, i like how the modern version is like "act difference" the disguise is the performance, rather than the oufit, although he too acts different. I really enjoyed Brett, he's a bit more silly or sassy... they're both sherlock, but different. I like when he laughs for himself and so
Re: Sherlock - BBC
I figured out what I don't like about elementary. it is that it has to have a morality or something in the end of the episode, like some sort of children television.

Yeah, I wanna know what she posted too. I can make a guess based on Carly's post but I'm still curious.
Re: Sherlock - BBC
Is there no sneaky underhanded Admin way to read deleted posts? I've always assumed that is one of your many evil powers.

I've never tried since we rarely have anyone delete stuff here. It might be possible on the Admin account. If I remember I'll check when I get home, but I'm at school right now and I make a point of only not signing on to the Admin account when I'm on a public Internet connection.

You sent erotic fanfiction to Benedict Cumberbatch?!
Re: Sherlock - BBC
NO! GOD NO! I WOULD NEVER WRITE SUCH ********************** porn.
no, I meant.. what I deleted... i.... it was a weak moment. I am never doing (I want to write late night postin, but it wasn't late..) that again.
[I deleted it because it was directed to me as a person and I didn't want that kind of things being linked at me, even if it was a joke.. People might not understand that, Carly would though, but.. yeah]

Maybe it's just that I'm tired, but I have no idea what you're trying to say, Norc.
Re: Sherlock - BBC
Doesn't seem to be as simple as a spazzmuffin writing a note to a studmuffin. I guess the world will never know. Perhaps the world is not ready....sort of like the story of the Giant Rat of Sumatra.
