Re: Sherlock - BBC
Just type the word 'spoiler' inside the brackets []. I demonstrated how in the post above (in the white box labeled code).
Re: Sherlock - BBC

Re: Sherlock - BBC
These two symbols are brackets: "[" and "]". To create a spoiler box, you need to use those brackets as outlined in the following box labeled "code".
In a finished post, this will appear like this (click on the white bar to show the hidden text):
When I say to use the brackets, all I mean is that you need to type "[spoiler]" exactly like that (but without the quotation marks) at the beginning of the text you want hidden, and then repeat it at the end, but with a "/" to indicate that it is a closing tag.
Square brackets are how just about all forum formatting is done. If you don't have square brackets on your keyboard, you can, just copy and paste from the box labelled "code" in this post and replace the text with whatever it is you want hidden.
I hope this is helpful.
- Code:
[spoiler]This text will be hidden.[/spoiler]
In a finished post, this will appear like this (click on the white bar to show the hidden text):
- Spoiler:
- This text will be hidden.

Re: Sherlock - BBC
thanks Eldo it was but unfortunately my computer doesnt do brackets. it has gone weird and some keys dont work, like the AT key and the one for magical encription. I will just have to not post any spoilers. thanks anyway. or I will try copy and paste as you suggested.

So Eldo, have you heard of people having trouble opening the spoiler bars? I can click on them all day long but nothing happens. I'm using Firefox and I've tried disabling my blockers but still no luck. Not a big deal, just curious.

very clever! the spoiler thingi
Re: Sherlock - BBC
There is an easier way to do the spoiler thing than writing it out Mrs Figg.
When you are composing your post just highlight the word or sentence or paragraph you want hidden and click the 'others' box (on the row above the post box next to the font buttons) a menu will pop down just pick spoiler and it will automatically put the highlighted section into the spoiler brackets for you.
I use firefox with add blocker etc and have no problems viewing spoiler stuff.

I haven't heard of that. The first thought that came to me was maybe was that maybe you clicked the wrong part of the bar. Did you click the actual black text that says "SPOILER"?
On further consideration, though, that seems unlikely. It could be a Javascript issue. I believe that is how the spoiler bar works. Do you know if you've ever had Javascript problems with other sites.
I can ask on one of the official tech support forums if nothing comes of either of these ideas.

I hope you don't mind, Tin, but I put that image in spoiler tags because it's so big but more importantly because there are a bunch of people who look at this thread but haven't seen the last episode.
Re: Sherlock - BBC
thank you, Eldo! thanks for thinking of us slow people still on season one! waiting for episode 3!

Awww... Eldo is my hero! Both of them.
Love the avatar, Norc. He has the same grin as the dog avatar you had! XD
Sherlock is scary when he pretends to be... well... human to manipulate people. Especially because he does it so well.

Re: Sherlock - BBC
Yeah, 3 episodes, a cliff hanger and a year to wait- in fact at the time it wasnt even certain there would be more episodes-which was another thing I was nearly cursing PJ for- as casting Freeman nearly meant no more Sherlock, fortunetly the BBC had got his name on the contract first so PJ had to work around the filming of Sherlock.

Re: Sherlock - BBC
oh, I understand. Must have bin terrible! we're lucky then I guess, since NRK sends both seasons togehter
Re: Sherlock - BBC
It's even worse on the sunset side of the pond. I've been able to see a total of two episodes, they appear without warning, weeks apart, and half the time what shows up is just a repeat of what you've already seen. Absolute frustration. Why won't the first season come out on DVD to put us sophisticates out of our misery?
Anything Moffat writes is golden. Seeing his name attached to an actor with the improbably British name "Benedict Cumberbatch" had me in a tizzy before I even saw the first episode. I mean, that name's right up there with Basil Rathbone.

Re: Sherlock - BBC
The first season has been out on DVD in the US for a while. You can get it through Amazon. PBS also re-aired the entire first season in January. The second season is only out on DVD in the UK but it won't be available in the US for another several months. It will air on PBS starting May 6.
