Sorry I just dont get any sexual tension between those two at all in the series. I see a running joke (particularly in the 1st series) about others mistaking them for a couple but thats it.
Growing respect and growing love for one another yes, sex in the mix in any way shape or form, definetly not. Would be entirely against Sherlocks personality.
Its not even like he saves Adler for her body, he saves her briliant mind (and in the book version at least his captivation by her is as much to do with his previous complete belief that women were not capable of such a mind).

I just want to make clear, I wash't serious. But I do spend a lot of time on tumblr and I can see why this has occurred. If it's fans overanalyzing or actually intended, I dunno, but it is rather fun to read people trying too rip apart and analyze certain scenes.

It's a valiant effort, Norc, but I've got nothing more to contribute until more rumors of the next series start trickling in.

My friend and I have a theory following our many unsuccessfull attemts to second guess Moffat's Who storylines.
'If we have thought of it, its wrong.'- you can't outthink the Moff, its useless to try.

Agreed. I'd be really disappointed if the answer turns out to be something that could be deduced from the final episode. Ending 18 months of speculation about the series one cliffhanger with The Bee Gees of all things was a stroke of genius. I'm expecting/hoping for something similarly out of left field.

And look at the final episode of last series Who, the season long cliffhanger of the Doctors death- and Moffat opens the episode with a bearded Doctor as soothsayer, in the present day, to the head of the world spanning Roman Empire, Winston Churchill.
Granted he can't go quite that leftfield for Sherlock, but I expect the unexpected.

Suspect you shouldn't read just the traffic cone theory. the one about why the little girls screamed is actually quite good.
