Re: Tales of Home
Hang on, I just did a weather check and I didn't see anything that hot in the next week.

"Sereno o poco nuvoloso"
Serene and slowly getting nervous as hell??
Oh, I see, I was checking the coastal cities, so it was moderated.

Re: Tales of Home
Its going to be 41 degrees on Friday and 40/105 on Saturday, but luckily next week goes back to normalish after a thunderstorm on Sunday, well that's the plan. But still that's damned hot. Also that town is at ground level and we are up in the hills at 300 feet so there should be some slight difference in temperature. Hopefully.

Re: Tales of Home
The main difference at 300 feet is more wind - in theory only 1 C lower at most.

Re: Tales of Home
thats no good, I need 10 degrees less at least and there's no wind, not a leaf is stirring. On the coast its the temperature is nearly always quite reasonable, so I would love to move to the coast one day.

{{ Sad night in my little town last night, all went a bit mad, not sure if its a shortageof buckie or an abundance but first some clown held up the McColls newsagents with knives, then some other nutter was jumpingout of bushes at kids, and then at about 3 in the morning a 30 year old and a 14 year old (which begs all sort of questions in itself) set fire to a local shop, burning down four family buinesses in the main street.

{{ I think its worse as these werent some big chain stores with deep pockets, these are all family run businesses central to the heart of the town, everyone knows the folk who own them by name and all those who work there. Very sad and all for nothing. Fortunately town is rallying round, there are funds to help out being set up, other businees in town are offering help that sort of thing. }}

Re: Tales of Home
Just ate a {{{mushroom}}} with my girl. Well, it's been a couple hours. Should be reaching the zenith. Very chill so far, little effect. May take more, but wanting to take things slow for a first time. Far less effect than weed, must say.

Re: Tales of Home
{{{Well I certainly cant say anything negative, I had my acid and mushroom phase in my 20's. hardest part was keeping the damn things down, disgusting to eat. We tried mushie tea, putting them in pot noodles, all sorts, never made a damn difference still horrible taste. Best way I ever found requires bit of patience. Pick them, store them in a proper sealed jar, leave them a year till they turn to powder, get a medical pill capsule like for headaches or something and empty it out and refill with the mushroom powder, get 100-200 mushrooms in each pill.
Als of course depends on what mushrooms yur taking, the 'magic mushroom' here are small white things, thin stalk, pointy head with nipple. But youve got to know what your picking as some very dangerous/lethal ones look similar. }}

Re: Tales of Home
I was recently told to avoid any mushrooms with nipples or rings. But that was for eating. Seems like what can get you high is one step removed from poison, which isn't exactly surprising. I'd avoid nipple rings in any case.

Re: Tales of Home
{{ Far as your body is conncerend it is poison Halfy, thats why it tries so hard to get it back out your system as quick as possible by making you throw up. That I suppose is where LSD tabs had the advantage, easy to take, unfortunately they usually contained stychnine which is a deadly poison in relatively small doses. And there is a noticable differnece in experience that hard to describe, but its bit like difference between eating a strawberry and eating artifical strawberry flavour. You can feel the chemicals. }}

Re: Tales of Home
Definately DONT take more if you are not feeling effects immediately. You can easily take too many if you do that. The best experience is always do it with people you trust and in a place you feel safe. My first acid trip was not pleasant at first because it went too weird too quick and I was with someone who hadn't a clue what to do when I started to feel odd. The idiot panicked instead of saying it was ok. But coming down was fabulous. Everything felt creamy, creamy air, creamy trees, creamy world, and I felt that I could walk for miles.

{{ I often found the hightened awareness post a trip better than the trip- I recall travelling up to Glasgow the day after a big trip, beautiful summers day and the trains were off so they had put a bus on as repleacement, double decker, we had the top floor to ourselves and sat right at the front as this over saturated so alive world flowed by us. Was amazing experience. }}

yep, post trip is the best. I didn't enjoy the trip itself, too much altered state, but as you said, the saturated world after is amazing.

Re: Tales of Home
Never done any hard stuff, too afraid of addiction (I even largely avoid caffeine for the same reason). But I've had a couple run-ins with non traditional marijuana intake. Once in Amsterdam I bought a couple brownies and brought them back to the hotel. Tried one and lay back to read a book. Nothing happened. Ate the next one, nothing happened. Turned off the light feeling I'd been ripped. About half an hour later everything went swirling lights for about 10 minutes and then it was over.
Another time on a camping trip somebody had brought back some laced chocolate (from Amsterdam of course). Tried one square, nothing happened. You'd think I would have learned from my first experience, but I was drunk (this is NOT a good combination) so I took another one...maybe two - I don't remember - the guy seemed happy to keep handing them out. Eventually I went to my tent. suddenly everything went like a small boat in a storm. I can't begin to describe the bug-eyed panic of trying to get that damn tent zipper open to throw up in the dark when drunk AND stoned beyond belief. That was a very rough night.
But smoking the stuff doesn't seem to do a damn thing to me...I think that's why I prefer it. Only do it socially on rare occasions, sort of like drinking caffeinated coffee.
