{{ Spot on as usual sadly. Mind you I do think Truss might be good for the cause of Scottish independence, if there is anything left by time Tories are done that is. }}

That first interview was done in New York, looks like Empire State Building.

She's very bad at making her arguments, she sort of builds her logic backwards. The bad consequences come before the justifications, so you get too mad to follow her reasoning, which ends up sounding like excuses.

{{ On her press conference, heard one journalist say they had to listen to it on the radio, and kept thinking the signal had cut out, turned out it was just the long awkward pauses as she struggled to answer anything.
Its a very bad joke, I said from long before she got the gig she was obviously out of her depth in the jobs she had done up till then, she was never PM material. She is a gift mind you as reasons for why Scotland should politicially divorce itself from this Westminster shit show. }}

Was just watching Kuenssberg on BBC and the interesting fact came up that by GDP per population Ireland is doing rather well at no4 in Europe, for comparisan the UK has fallen to 34th!
And Scotland is a far richer nation in terms of already established infrastructure and resources than Ireland ever has been. Its time we went our own way, politicially and economically. }}

{{ Wow! New Chancellor (for this week anyway) Hunt just made Truss, her policies and her position as PM pointless. He just reversed everything she has stood on, reversed all the cuts, even corporation tax, and the one thing Truss has been leaning on like a drowning women grapping for a life jacket, the energy payments, he just cut from 2 years to just april next year.
There is literally no point to her now- everything she stood for turned to disaster and ashes and its now all been binned. She has to go and surely there has to be a general election now. }}

{{ The chaos continues, the new Home Sec has just resigned, details on why are thin on the ground but press reporting she may have broken the ministerial code.

Also important vote tonight for Truss's authority as she has made a 'confidence vote' in her by insisiting on a three line whip to vote against a Labour motion to ban fracking- which a lot of Tories are actually in favour of banning, especially those in nice expensive Tory shires and in the red wall seats in the North of England. One to watch as a sizeable rebellion might well spell the end of this abysmal PM.

Just to recap this trainwreck of a government- in the few weeks Truss has been PM she has tanked the economy, increased dramatically the cost of living, appointed then sacked her Chancellor and Home Secretary, given tax breaks to the wealthiest whilst refusing to say if the benefits for the poorest will increase in line with inflation- inflation she has stoked up with her incompetent governance- and plans to effectively legislate to make the right to protest and strike all but impossible. Tory priorities! }}

{{ bit more detail but its still pretty murky if you ask me- the ex Home Secs resignation letter says she resigned over basically a clerical error- but I suspect thats fudging the matter somewhat.

"Earlier today, I sent an official document from my personal email to a trusted parliamentary colleague as part of policy engagement, and with the aim of garnering support for government policy on migration.
This constitutes a technical infringement of the rules. As you know, the document was a draft Written Ministerial Statement about migration, due for publication imminently. Much of it had already been briefed to MPs. Nevertheless it is right for me to go.
As soon as I realised my mistake, I rapidly reported this on official channels, and informed the Cabinet Secretary. As Home Secretary I hold myself to the highest standards and my resignation is the right thing to do.
The business of government relies upon people accepting responsibility for their mistakes.
Pretending we haven't made mistakes, carrying on as if everyone can't sce that we have made them, and hoping that things will magically come right is not serious politics. I have made a mistake; I accept responsibility; I resign."

Given she is from the far right of the Tory party, a Tory party that is already far more right wing that of old before Boris purged everyone else who wasnt, so that gives you an idea of how far right she is- she spent earlier today going after climate protesters and her immigration policy is to upscale further the largely immoral policy of shoving migrants onto planes and flying them to Africa to dump them off on other countries for a fee (a large fee footed by the Uk tax payer I might add) so this 'offical document on migration' was probably pretty far out there.

She has also gone further by attacking Truss's government on the way out the door for not being extreme enough -

'It is obvious to everyone that we are going through a tumultuous time. I have concerns about the direction of this government.
Not only have we broken key pledges that were promised to our voters, but I have had serious concerns about this government's commitment to honoring manifesto commitments, such as reducing overall migration numbers and stopping illegal migration, particularly the dangerous small boats crossings.
It has been a great honour to serve at the Home Office, in even the brief time that I have been here, it has been very clear that there is much to do, in terms of delivering on the priorities of the British people.
They deserve policing they can respect, an immigration policy they want and voted for in such unambiguous numbers at the last election, and laws which serve the public good, and not the interests of selfish protestors."

Which is her way of saying she'd really have liked to been way more righ wing and racist- which is odd as sheis the 2nd Home Sec in a rwo who is the daughte rof immigrants who has enacted laws that would have prevented her own parents from being allowed to come and live here. Worse were there a Home Sec like her when her parents had tried to immigrate to the UK theyd have been bundled on a plane and dumped in Rhwanda. Its kindof bizarre that the most extreme right wing anti-migration folk in the Tory party seem to be those born to migrants. }}

{{ Hints at the truth behind this starting to leak out- seems the ex Home Sec had a face to face confrontation with the PM over immigration. As noted above the Home Sec was very anti-immigration and all in favour of shipping folk to Africa, and the PM, needing to bolster the economy she just tanked in the eyes of the markets, and one of whose main issues is Brexit and the loss of freedom of movement in the EU leading to a mass worker shortage we need more migrants to fill. So PM wantsmore migrants, ex-Home Sec hates them and wants them shipped out.
Add to that the Home Sec was a hardline Brexiteer and the new PM voted Remain and only switched horses afterwards and it all starts to become a little clearer. }}

{{{ Looks like a complete farce going on in the Commons right now- the vote is underway on fracking- earlier today the government sent message to its MP's saying it regarded this as a confidence vote in the government and was 3 line whip to vote it down, meaning if any Tory MP's voted the other way theyd be kicked from the party and have to sit as an independent.

However in the debate right before the vote the government benches suddenly rowed back and said it was no longer considered a confidence vote.
Now the actual voting process is breaking down as Tories in the voting lobby demand to know whats going on if its a confidence vote, a 3 line whip or what, with apparently Tory MP's chanting "wheres the Chief?" a reference to the Chief Whip.

The Speaker of the House has just instructed the Sergeant at Arms to go to the No vote lobby - "Will the sergeant please investigate the disorder in the 'no' lobby," and now it seems the reason the Tories are demanding wheres the Chief is because rumours are the Chief Whip has resigned!

Reports too now of MPs being "physically man-handled".

What is happening? This government surely cant last the night. }}
