Petty - The whole terrorist thing in N. Ireland is always going to happen if in league with one of the bigger parties.

It is always whatever suits... and that is how it is for all in power. If people were serious then we wouldn't be sending hundreds of billions in military hardware to Saudi Arabia. The current and probably future terrorist issue is directly influenced by that lot and we need to cut these kinds of ties asap!

This is probably a worse situation than Cameron and Clegg. That was all a bit desperate but this is someone now counting the days.

{{Telegraph today reporting Davidson wants a separate Scottish Conservative Party, affiliated too but not part of the Westminster arty.
She herself has shot this down in a tweet, pointing out she stood against that argument in her leadership bid.
Having said that however there are some obvious areas where Davidson's Scottish party and the Westminster party are not in agreement, some of them big ticket issues.
Obviously Davidson is very LGBT rights and want to improve the rights of those people in NI as part of a deal with the DUP.
She wants to protect foreign workers in Scotland and have a separate Scottish immigration policy for migrant workers.
And she wants Scotland to remain in the single market.
If any of this sounds familiar its because they are all also SNP policy!
Going to be very interesting to see how this plays out. In the past most of these issues have not been a problem because Scottish Tories just weren't relevant and had no impact on Westminster Tories- now they are keeping May in a job its a different story. }}

{{One thing Corbyn has to get credit for is engaging the youth vote, especially in England.
This rather illustrates it well- a rave in Liverpool-

Hard to image the same thing happening for May isn't it! }}

The fact that Corbyn cracked the youth turnout code that has stymied so many previous left and center-left candidates, even ones with large numbers of young admirers, is one of the most impressive things about this election.

Surely the coalition/loose deal between the Cons and DUP infringes on The Good Friday Agreement and gives one party/ Uk goverment too much say in Northern Ireland, wasn't the point of it that the Uk Goverment was supposed to be neutral and insist on power sharing in Ulster wherever possible?

May must be really deluded and desperate to cling onto power if she's going to risk pissing off the IRA remnants...

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/jun/10/election-nicky-morgan-theresa-hard-brexit

The Observer has learned that May took the fateful decision to call the election having been urged to do so by commission president Jean-Claude Juncker.
It is understood that Juncker had advised May to call an early general election as a result of his concerns that the 17-seat majority she had inherited from David Cameron would not be enough during the pinch points of the negotiations, including over the issue of the UK’s divorce bill, estimated to be as much as €100bn.
“During bilaterals, in the margins of summits, Juncker repeatedly told her he thought she should do it,” one EU source said. A second European diplomat added: “People don’t understand. We want a deal more than anyone. We are professionals, we have a mandate to get a deal and we want to be successful in that.”

Laughing lol! :facepalm:

yep. the Tories could be responsible for the return to violence. what a legacy. Cameron gave us brexit because of his personal ambition and May gives us DUP because of her personal ambition. I think its time the Tories put the country first.
