Re: Game of Thrones [2]
I think the Ghost arc suffered from budgetary constraints. Had to spend it all on dragons. But it was such a cold throw-away goodbye; surely they could have done better.

They should have killed him off a few seasons ago if they were gonna treat him like that.

I have read a lot of people were pissed off how they treated Ghost, but apart from the budget issue I think it was deliberate. If Jon had given Ghost a cuddle and had left him with affection it wouldn't have been as devastatingly sad. That scene was full of loneliness, it was the loneliness of an abandoned animal, an animal dirty and wounded, it was also the loneliness of losing two of his best most loyal friends, it was never going to be cute and cuddly. He was probably leaving them both for the last time, Jon just left, quickly before he lost it because he cant afford to be heartbroken, and also a part of Jon was really abandoning them as they were part of his old life, and they wouldn't have any place in his new life, I think people in Westeros don't really have time for sentiment, they are living on the edge of disaster . well that's my take on the scene anyway.

That's called rationalization. They could have handled it better.

Its not rationalisation because the whole atmosphere was sad and lonely, it wasn't happy or cuddly. it was about great loss.

Re: Game of Thrones [2]
It was wrong, all wrong. Jon and Ghost used to be close before Ghost mysteriously disappeared. The bond between the Stark children and their dire-wolves has been a part of the show since episode 1, and Jon sends Ghost away for ???reasons???
"A direwolf doesn't belong in the south!"
"Winter has come idiot! It's snowy down there as well!"
hey Norc, I forgot that you watched this show!
That's how I've felt about the show for the last few seasons.
Anyway, what I meant was that some of the characters that Maisie Williams has been playing have been annoying know-it-alls. Her character from Dr. Who. "Me", was it? Was annoying. And now Arya is also annoying. So I guess I misspoke, the actress is not the cocky one, it's the characters she plays.
It would be rude in person, but online I don't know if it matters much to say that the actor who plays Gendry has a much better body than face.
I agree! She has developed into an unlikable character.
Why is Jon sending Ghost away? I'd like to understand that move, because just saying that they don't belong in the south is such a paltry nothing of an explanation. Because Robb's wolf died in the south? That only happened because Robb died too.
A dragon may go, but a large wolf musn't. It's so lame. Also, Ghost was looking considerably smaller than previously, when standing next to Tormund in the courtyard. What's up with that?

Jon isn't sending him away, he is trying to do what is best for him considering he has already been in battle and been scarred by it, if I had a Direwolf I would be sending it as far away from danger as possible, I wouldn't bring it with me to a battle where dragon fire will probably burn everything. Jon is now more of a Targaryen and less of a Stark, maybe its symbolic that he lets Ghost go with Tormund and follows the dragon.

Re: Game of Thrones [2]
He basically is sending him away though.
Ghost could have stayed in Winterfell to protect Sansa and Bran.
He could have also given a fuck about him over the last 3 seasons given everything that Ghost had done for him.
That sad look was "I was hoping that you might finally give back some of the love and devotion I gave to you... but that was stupid of me as the writers are dickheads."

I think its more "the writers don't have a Direwolf budget"

Yeah... that was half arsed. They have done plenty of it before but I guess zombie polar bears are the primary consideration.
"It was much more powerful"
.....Yes, it made Jon look like a much more of a twat!

Re: Game of Thrones [2]
seriously dudes if Jon had had a nice cuddle with Ghost it obviously would have been heartwarming and lovely, and a bit predictable. But they were going for lonely, forlorn and sad, and they nailed it. It was a bitter/sweet moment of parting, it wasn't happy and it wasn't nice to watch someone just walk away from a beloved animal, it was sad, it left people a bit miserable, that's what they do in GoT, they get you in the guts and make you cry, the bastards.

If he had given more of a meaningful look I would have bought it, but it was more like a glance then walk out. It was cold.

Re: Game of Thrones [2]
He managed to give Sam and Tormund more than a forlorn look.
Jon hasnt spoken to Ghost in literally 3 years!!! 3 years!!!
That would have been a shock ending... Ghost feels so broken and betrayed by his master that he jumps out of some trees and fucks him up! That is the more appropriate end to their on screen 'relationship'

well maybe next time Jon should get a cat, the cat would have just gone 'meh bye bye' and stalked off.

Usually he reviews games, I think. I don't much care for him either. There are a lot of "Angry Something-something Nerd something"s on Youtube, and not all of them are worth much of a listen.

I agree! She has developed into an unlikable character.
That was not what i said and we most certainly do not agree. I think Arya is a well written character, she is a tom boy who has evolved into a kinda cold assassin and an independent girl who knows what she wants and how to obtain it. I like this character. Also i think Maisi Williams does a great job potraying her. My point that i was trying to make which you either delibrately ignored or just plainly didn't get, is that good, well-written character don't always have to bo likeable or stroke the audience the right way, a good example here is Joffrey. Not a likeable character, but that is precisely why i like tha character. same goes for many of the characters in GoT, they are not always likeable, but that's why we like them.
I repeat, we do not agree, she hasn't developed into an unlikable character, i think she is awesome. But if you can't deal with the fact that the actress isn't a child anymore and isn't a sexy warrior princess that does good deeds than i can not help you. i still find your argument about not liking the character Arya and Maisi Williams potrayal of her very immature and shallow.
Also, you dragging in other characters she has played is really beside the point and has nothing to do with GoT. Not her fault she is type-cast. I'd recommend watching other non-mainstream roles she has done, she has starred in more than just Game of Thones and Doctor Who (two of the most easily fan comsumed shite).
just proves you probably are rude in person too.It would be rude in person, but online I don't know if it matters much to say that the actor who plays Gendry has a much better body than face.

Re: Game of Thrones [2]
As for the last episode. Here we have the battle planning and tension i missed in the first two, oh well.
Although it is kinda predicted, i like where they're going with Dany and Jon and who in the end should sit on the throne.
Also, killing the dragon, they could've built up the tension a bit beforehand, let us viewers know what trap they were walking into, as it felt rushed, and not done a typical GoT-twist..
Having only one dragon now is evening out the odds, although they seem pretty fucked now anyways so the blow is not that hard...and idk why Cercei didn't just kill the dragon too at the end as it was in reach of the canons. oh well...
it is a nice symbolic with only one dragon though, as we've seen Jon ride one, only one dragon to ride, only one throne to sit on.
i think sansa will end up on the throne. just placing my bets here and now.
i couldn't care less about Ghost, but Jon and Ghost, neither belong in the south. But lots of cute fanart with Tormund and Ghost, and that's kinda cute..
as for the rest of the season, less fanficcy feel please!
